Possible Farming Idea? R/E
***** Please read discuss below before posting as this build is subject to change quickly! ******
The Bomber
I was thinking on this for a long time over the past few days..
I don't know if anyone has thought of this before but I thought I'd post it anyways.
Skills
R/E
[skill]Obsidian Flesh[/skill][skill]Stoneflesh Aura[/skill][skill]Stone Striker[/skill][skill]Sliver Armor[/skill][skill]Aftershock[/skill][skill]Storm Chaser[/skill][skill]Quickening Zephyr[/skill][skill]Edge of Extinction[/skill]
Attributes
Wilderness Survival: 13 [9 + 4]
Earth Magic: 12
Beastmastery: 9(13)
Equipment
Armor: Earthbound Armor of Attunement
Earthbound Mask of Superior Wilderness Survival
Earthbound Mask of Superior Beastmastery
(x5) [wiki]Earthbound Insignia[/wiki]
(x4) [wiki]Rune of Attunement[/wiki]
(x1) [wiki]Rune of Superior Wilderness Survival[/wiki]
(x1) [wiki]Rune of Superior Beastmastery[/wiki]
(x1) [wiki]Galigord's Stone Staff[/wiki]
All of these things are fairly cheap, and I image it would take no more than 3k (plus the cost of skills) to get this build running.
The Concept
The Basic idea is that you would find a decent mob, and get ready to lay your spirits. First (and make sure you do this first) put on a beastmastery mask (with a superior beastmastery rune) and lay down Edge of Extinction. After, put on your Wilderness Survival mask of attunement. then, cast stoneflesh Aura, Obsidian Flesh, and Stone striker on then go and pull your mob. once you're in a convent position, go ahead and recast your enchants, you must keep these up at all time. If you run low on energy, throw up Storm chaser, and you should be at max in no time. Now, you are ready to begin bombing. Spam-Cast Aftershock as much as possible, Your objective is to get your mob down to below 90% hp. Once you have gotten them down to a reasonable health level, cast Sliver armor. while sliver armor is up, continue casting aftershock and maintaining your enchants. After a few targets have died, an Edge of Extinction bomb should go off and it will wipe out mostly everything (maybe not ranged attackers). Pick up your loot and Start over.
Whew! Took me about thirty minutes to push that through.
Discussion/Criticism happily accepted. If anyone is willing to try this out, go for it. I won't be testing it until the weekend..

Well, armor doesn't stack past 40 anymore. So I think there's some flaw here.

So does that mean that in theory if you cast armor of Earth, THEN ward against elements you will still get the excessive amounts of armor?
Mister O, I totally missed that skill.. Wow I'm blind.. Just change all the insignias to Earthbound and you're all set..
Need to look up a new elite.. This build needs some serious revisions to work..

No, it won't. "From other sources" means from insignias, weapon/shield mods, etc.

After much thought today, I have come up with a new build and concepts. Check it out and Critique!
One major problem I have is what to farm, any ideas are helpful!

it's an interesting idea but there are faster ways of killing things... having aftershock as your main attack skill is slow. E/Me is better with stone striker and mantra of earth, whilst you have mantra on you gain +2 for earth damamge you take and also all damage is reduced by upto 40% depending on how much you upped inspiration magic. And whilst you you have stone striker on all you're gonna take is earth damage. Also with Stoneflesh aura that works out to 0 damage taken and +2 energy every hit. That gives you 5 skill slots to play with, and to me that's gonna be loads more damage in alot less time. Might be worth thinking about using aftershock to it's all full potential, like using it after earthquake or dragon's stomp. That leaves you another 3 skill slots to choose from. Your idea is good but there are better and faster ideas for what you're tryin to achieve

Not a bad set-up for something you just came up with.... though if you can't stop ALL damage from getting through then you might have a problem on your hands as you lack a self-heal.
Try it out on Jade Brotherhood Knights or Minotaurs this weekend maybe and let me know via Guild channel if it works out.
What I'm interested in is how well you can make use of the Obsidian Flesh to avoid gratuitous Ench-Strips and the like. I'm still looking for a way to farm the elder Mantids in Waijun (outside Nahpui)....

Well, The idea isn't that you kill with After shock, It's that you do maybe two aftershocks (about 10 seconds with QZ) and then put up sliver armor to kill one of them, then two, then three, then EoE bomb..
you can't really set off an Eoe Bomb with e/me..
Alrighty Soti, only problem is that all the mantids are ranged, so you would maybe to bundle them up quick, then farm.. Bit hard to pull off..

And it sounds like a perfectly sound idea... provided you can keep yourself alive for the duration. ^_^
Admittedly, I'm not sure if it would hold up to the pure awesomeness of Splinter Barrage EoE for pure offensive power.... but it could well manage to be VERY useful...

I tried a build like this for farming IDS. It worked ok, but needed a lot of work to keep Ob Flesh up. Glyph + Serpents Quickness.
Anyway, keep trying, im sure you'll get it down soon.
