HIgh level charmable pets?
Back in Factions I remember going to Pongmei Valley with my ranger and picking up a level 15 pet. (Can't recall if it was Elder or Hearty but it doesn't matter for the purposes of this post.) Well, with GW:EN I decided to go try a few thumper and paragon/pet builds with my heroes. I went back and didn't find any high level pets in the valley.
I'm wondering if there are still places where you can go to pickup a level 15 pet. I'd like to avoid leveling a pet from 5 to 20 if I can.
Any help is appreciated. (Sorry if theres a link to this. I searched and didn't get any results from the site search.)
Thanks!

I've not finished my hugging, but so far in GW:EN I've found level 8 moas, level 15 elder crocs, and a level 20 elder black widow on the over level 5 pets topic. Of these, the moas were non aggro, easily tested for charmability (just outside Umbral Grotto in Verdant Cascades. The level 15 Elder Crocs are just to the east of those guys and can be the first encounter from town. I did not test them for charmability. The Elder Black Widow was already a boss pet for a 'Weaver' aka spider Ranger Boss in Magus Stones, but potentially charmable if you were fast and motivated with an interrupter and 6 monks.
Edite, ok apparently the ranger boss was human, but with a group of spiders... name was Ashlyn Spiderfriend

If you have the quest "The Great Zehtuka" active in Nightfall there is a group of lvl 12 aggressive lions which can be tamed.
This also makes obtaining the "Dire" evolution much easier.
hmmm that Black Widow in GW:EN sounds tempting but I'm still getting a polar bear

I read about the Great Zehtuka quest on the wiki but I'd already completed it. Instead I just went out with Dunkoro. Using him to rez me and not heal it took about 2.5 hours and 300 deaths to get a level 20 dire eagle. I'm planning on doing the exact same thing for Jin and Pyre.

FYI the pet only needs to become level 15 to evolve to Dire for future reference.
I death leveled a level 3 Jahai Rat to Dire 15! If that's not a waste of time then I don't know what is!

The black moa starts out at level 20 and is one of the only pets you can add to the HOM as well. My be something you wish to consider as well.

We'll I've done it for all three of my ranger heroes. I'm planning on trying 3 pack hunters w/ my Rit buffing them with Splinter Weapon. I might even buff the pets too. Unbuffed they mow down Charr like mad.

You can, as me, get a lvl 15 Crab from a ranger boss in Jade Sea.
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Milodestus_the_Wrangler
Took me almost hour, but it was faster than capturing lvl 5 crab and leveling him to lvl 15.
