Default HM Farming Poisonous Outcrops, Mirror of Lyss

Hi,

I have just completed nightfall and have started farming HM in Poisonous Outcrops and Mirror of Lyss.....I have found that i dont last long!! My current build with heroes and Henchies is no problem in NM, but in HM i struggle....which is why its called Hard Mode!

What I am after is a build with heroes and Henchies that will work well and a solo build that can do both areas and or a team h/h build. I am a dervish/monk and only have Nightfall, Factions and EOTN so the 130 derv build is out and from what i've heard it would no good for those areas.

My build is:

Avator of Lyss
Protective Spirit
Vital Boon
Mystic regenration
Eternal Aura
Mirage Cloak
Chilling Victory
Heart of Holy Flame

I take with me Dunkoro as a smit/prot, Takahora as a healer/prot and either zhed or Norgu. Henchies I take the 2 healers, fighter and either the elementalist or Paragon.

Any help is appreciated. I have looked on the pvwiki and there doesn't seem to be any solo derv builds for those areas.

Thanks.

2 monk henchies and 2 heroes seems like overkill to me.
I think your problem is that you dont dish out enough damage and thus the mob successfuly pressures you to death
as a dervish you can play D/E and tank while your heroes(the 2 eles and mesmer) nuke the mob to oblivion while you rely on your henchies as your defensive squad, 2 monks, earth ele and something else...

LOL @ Above post.

I wouldn't really class this as farming since you're using heros + hench, and won't make very much money. I'm pretty sure you could solo large numbers of the enemy there with the E/A and A/E shadow form + sliver armor builds which work very well in Hard Mode. As for a Dervish build? I have none, sorry.

Perhaps if you're wanting to run with heros, you should consider taking 2.

You run with a higher-health, less damage but more tanking style build, perhaps similar to a 600 Monk.

Hero 1 runs as a pure damage char, perhaps an E/Rt with Glyph of Renewal, Meteor Shower, Spirit Rift and Ancestor's Visage, to deal out an intense amount of AoE damage to all foes around you, the tank.

Edit: Ok first, buy Prophecies <.< it's worth the money. Perhaps, since you dont have proph, an SF Ele for pressure + massive degen + damage could work.

Hero 2 runs as a Holy Wrath + Retrib + life attunement + vital blessing standard bonder. Now they are taking 50 or so damage whenever they attack you on top of the hero AoE. This would obliterate them due to their fast attack speed.

Perhaps a third hero could simply carry Serpents Quickness, Blessed Aura, Spell Breaker and Hex Removal.

Hero micro-control would be very tricky but very necessary for this build to work smoothly. It should work fine though.

Farming in HM should be a 4 man affair. Meaning you and 3 heroes. Since you're a Dervish you can deal alot of damage and your armor is high enough to take the aggro. So you can be the "tank". You need a monk hero of course. I suggest you ignore smite and go either healing or prot. Change the build depending on where you're going. I've died alot because Dunk didn't have any hex or condition removal. Bring a nuker of some kind. I have Sosuke set to either Searing Flames or Savannah Heat and Zhed set to Obsidian Flesh(to take some aggro and a few hostile spells) and general warding. Find out what works for you. The last hero can be anything. I agree with the above suggestion that you bring an MM...when the area provides exploitable corpses.

With my own Derv I've found that you need to put a skill or two in your bar in the event that you need to run away and regroup, which happens alot in HM. [skill=text]Veil of Thorns[/skill] is effective in about 98% of the game. Enemies that float don't seem to be effected by cripple at all. *shrug* I dunno if I just experienced a fluke.

thanks for the advice I find that in HM I get dealt too much dmg, for instance when coming up against Djinn either Ruby or Diamond at least 2 of my team ore wiped out within seconds, also when Crags with Sandstorm do a lot of dmg....the healers/prots dont seem to limit the dmg. I always go in with protective spirit.
