Haven't found this build here so here it is. This build is a very free ranger build that can solo-farm Mergoyle Wavebreakers in Scoundrel's Rise. It only has 2 skills you really need, all the others can be filled with skills you like to use (high damage attack + preperation skills could be useful to make the run faster). I used a build that looked a bit like this one but with running skills to IDS farm, ages ago, can't find it anymore and I'm not sure if it still works.

Where:
Scoundrel's Rise

Armor:
Any Armor with Frostbound Insignia's, all rune's are optional and any bow will work.

Attribute's:
Wilderness Survival: 5 is the minimum
All other attribute's are optional!

Skills:
Elemental Resistance
Troll Unguent
all other skills are optional!

How to farm them:
Enter Scoundrel's Rise from the Gates of Kryta (Location) in HM. Just follow the path and you'll find the Mergoyle Wavebreakers soon enough. Fighting them is very easy, just hit elemental resistance and use troll when you're not comfortable with your health (you can kill a group of 3 without using it). The Mergoyle's won't be doing real damage to you because of your high armor vs cold damage.

What they drop: (these are my stats after farming 640 of them in HM)
Nothing: 24,4%
Gold: 20,6%
Collectables: 20,6%
White items: 12,5%
Blue items: 10,0%
Purple items: 6,9%
Gold items: 3,1%
Lockpicks: 1,3%
Tome's: 0,6%

wow so you got 131 golds killing 640 of them impressive. I'll try this on my Ranger.

I think he means gold, not gold items.

they really are suprisingly easy to farm, trolls usually deals with any damage they deal.
I was using a build for farming IDS, i just put obsidian flesh up when i encountered a group of 3 Mergoyles, then once 1 or 2 of them had gone down i just relied on Trolls for healing.

Used kindle arrows and poison tip signet.

I use my PVP R/P build with pet to farm these guys.

12 BM, 9 Exp, 12 Spear

Tiger's Fury
Poisonous Bite
Barbed Spear
Blazing Spear
Merciless Spear
Heal As One
Companionship (drop this for Rez in PVP)- really an optional skill, could use another pet or spear attack for this
Charm Animal

Pet takes and holds aggro, the degen and deep wound eats them up fast. Got decent healing, and easy pet rez that heals you too. Full Beast Mastery insignias and a shiled. I take 50 damage from Ice Spikes and 3 or 4 from their attacks. Pet goes in, I start chucking spears, bodies start dropping. Can take out Skales one at a time too, best to use a bow and get the pet to charge in and take all the hexes.
