Yes this build looks fun, as did Hamstorming.

But it's not very effective, just interrupt a few skills and hmm blind, blackout, all kinds of things can shut you down. Vocal Minority etc... Oh and Dolyak = instant snare. I'd hate to come across any necros or any form of armor ignoring spells with this build.

Tanking died a long time ago. Move on.

You know, you and Bush should learn this: when everyone else around you are screaming "You're WRONG! We have PROOF!", sometimes it's a good thing to listen. Even if you are some kind of AB genius. Which is kind of like being the winner of Special Olympics.

...Please. If you REALLY want to waste your time slaughtering the idiots that frequent AB, at least use a build like the E/D earth tank. It, at least, has some serious offensive power from it's earth elemental skills, as well as being more durable than a simple warrior tank would ever be. I'll just stick to my elementalist, which has speed buffs and spammable AoE damage, the best things to have in AB.

...which also blows, btw. Daze=dead
But I still second that, since Daze is a tougher counter than "moving away slowly"

Crippling Slash + Conjure ftw from a PvPer's point of view

A lot of people forget the point of PvP. In PvP, you do what your class is best at. If you're a Warrior, your job is to deal damage and do more DPS. If you're a Monk, you heal.

Honestly people...you have no idea how dumb people in AB's can be.

When I was in (any) I donated 15k faction every day, so I have quite a bit of AB experience. In AB, its almost as if people are more concerned about taking down people of the same class as they are then trying to win, gain faction, etc...especially warriors. In the right situation, this build can be very good.

However, there are a hundred more efficient Warrior AB builds that are much more flexible out there, such as my favorite Your All Alone!.

But, who I am to say your wrong? It's a game, and against a bunch of morons this build would be insanely fun!

AB has changed a lot over the last few months. It's gone from one side mobbing and capping to both sides mobbing and capping and now it's just a bunch of people trying to fight 1 on 1 with each other. Just about every melee class tries to do it. It's fun when you have the same dervish running at you everytime they get rezzed.

So I do not see how this build works anymore. A sin sees you, pulls out of a mob and kills you. GG?

Seems boring imo. I'd rather run something like Enraging Charge, Tiger Stance, Crippling Slash, Gash, Galrath Slash, Final Thrust, Shield Bash* and utility slot, usually a self-heal like Healing Signet. Did randomly take Gaze of Contempt once, which was hilarious when used versus earth tanks and Dark Bond MMs, but not all that useful.

*It's for the lols when you bash a sin's lead attack or another warrior's cripslash, since they always try to 1v1 you. Someone always does, every match.

All in all, what I'm (and a few other people have been) trying to say is, your build's ok for if you do have a bunch of morons mobbing you... but with a different, damage based build, you kill people much faster, and are more useful to your team in general. Altogether though, if you're having fun with your build, then keep on, I suppose. When I see you in battle, I'll wave as I walk past on my way to gank your backline.

People, people... try to refrain from flaming or discouraging these kind of builds. Be civil now...

Cause then, people might get smart and we don't want smart people as prey now do we?

-People normally post on forums do discuss stuff, so don't be surprised if peole will argue. -People on guru are also concerned with providing useful information to the community, this most definitely doesn't include tanking in PvP.
-Ab doesn't need lawn ornaments, it needs killers. I hate people that are afraid to fight and hide themselves behind all kinds of lameness. It's a bit like over defensive teams in TA that make matches last 30 minutes.
-If I would meet you I would either degen/curse/empathy you to death or leave you alone and kill your team, capping stuff alone is SLOW.
-All this dfensive crap is made obsolete by the following skills:
[skill]healing signet[/skill]
[skill]disciplined stance[/skill]

Funny how "FoW is ugly" is actually a valid point. It *is* about looking pretty, not looking expensive.

Less e-peen FoW armor, more build discussion.

Even if (read: if, I dont have the experience myself to say which is better) this is not THE most effective build in AB, whats wrong with making up a new build if he likes it ?(and thinking outside the box is also never wrong, something which a lot of Guru people cant). Some of you guys make yourselves look pretty stupid by all throwing general unwritten rules about PvP like: "Tanking sux in PvP, period". While many general "rules" about PvP dont apply for AB.

Tanking in AB can be really effective, try putting your tank on an enemy shrine and watch people hastly jumping in to try to prevent you capping the shrine. When yur on a platform, people wont think: Oh, thats a tank, i wont bother attacking him, also Dolyak Signet is fine there cus you dont need to move . At all, AB really is about capping shrines and preventing shrines to be capped.

And guys, take a look at this line and re-read your own posts:

1. Dude its a fun build you havent tried it.
(GW is about fun, a thing which is not allways achieved the best way by using cliche Wiki builds)

@JDRyder: Your way too young and inexperienced with the english language to be flaming so much, dont do it, cus you sound like a complete ass

Meh, tanking in AB CAN be PRODUCTIVE especially if you can hold a lot of players. If people ignore him, then Mark of Pain is enough to cap alone.

The only weakness relative to the main purpose of the build is degen since I think 'I Will Survive' and IWAY can be unreliable. So a variation could be:
[skill]Bonetti's Defense[/skill][skill]Dolyak Signet[/skill][skill]"Watch Yourself!"[/skill][skill]Flail[/skill][skill]Defy Pain[/skill][skill]Endure Pain[/skill][skill]Mark of Pain[/skill][skill]Lion's Comfort[/skill]

I'm sick of seeing this line. Say AB is low skilled pvp or whatever but it's not pve.

Edit: fixed "Watch Yourself!" icon, thanks Reinfire.

While I do agree that tanking outside of select PVE is stupid, this is not high end PVP where everyone can tell your what skills your have just from your casting animation. This is like near the bottom near RA where most people just play by pressing 'C' then the 'Spacebar' with the occasional number keys in between

I mean I don't condone it but one thing I do enjoy is having loads of enemies trying to kill me and I can hold them off while I slowly kill them. This build does that so I'll probably try it one day because it looks like so much fun (and not because I want to totally wtfpwn everyone)

No problem with people making up funny builds at all, If it makes them happy al the flaming in the world isn't gonna change it. But when people post stuff on a forum, they must realize people will react. People on GWguru are usually quite polite about too it so I don't know why it should hurt anyones feelings.

People are jus being honest and I like honest people. And last, AB =/= PvE. Think of it as low level PvP if you like, but when I play I kill layers, not only NPC's. Ever thought about what a guild lord or a ghostly hero is? right, an NPC.
