fairness.
in order to even out the classes with this they'd need to charge paras for spears and also make all toher classes weapons break so they had to buy new ones every now and then, for fairness.

While we're at it, let's give monks talent trees, underpower their healing, and give them a "shadow" tree that restores energy...and warriors can get a skill called "Mortal Strike" that cripples healing, and...wait, that's WoW.
In short- no, limiting the number of arrows would destroy what is great about the ranger in this game.

I've played other games in which archer type characters had to buy arrows. It was tedious and basically made me frustrated because not only did I have to keep replenishing my supply of arrows but, it also counted as weight that I had to carry around (which would be horrible for my small in stature ranger).
The reason I fell in love with GW is because I wasn't limited in playing my ranger by worrying about if I had enough gold to obtain my arrows or if she would be able to carry the weight of them.
In summary- Don't fix anything that isn't broken.

I agree with what everyone has said about having an arrow count that needs restocking, its a gold sink that we don't really need.
However having the game count the number of arrows your character has fired could prove interesting. Especially if there is a title involved.

It would be unfair. This is one of the first games to not make archers pay for arrows... what a concept huh?

Yeah, also make an NPC that you could pay one plat and someone comes over to your house and kicks you several times really hard on the nuts. Both great ideas.

Another thing about having limited arrows...what group in their right mind would ever want a party member with only a limited amount of ammo? With limited arrows, rangers would be pointless.

Well, it'd make rangers the most expensive class, I can't imagine getting a ranger out of pre with arrows needing to be purchased...
However, if the arrows didn't need to be purchased, I agree with a previous poster that making arrows offhand items could be pretty interesting. Though, it might make using preparations seem a bit..odd.

If you think it would be bad for rangers, imagine what it would be like for Paragons.

It is a bad idea. Not bashing your try to get it into GW but it is a bad idea in general. Same as it is with needing ingredients to cast your spells (like certain roots, herbs etc) or having to repair your armor and weapons. Same as with having to take care of food and water.
Most people that are pro consumables argument with logic (the next time someone brings up logic in a fantasy game the world is gonna go bluescreen of death). For some reason carrying thousands and thousands of Arrows, weighting 2000 pounds is more logical to them than carrying unlimited arrows. Yes, beats me too.
