Reli loaded?

Druids is one of the more useful, as would be the +10AL while using preparation/stance versions.

Yeah, Druids. If you have the max 70 armor from Consulate Docs, just get inscriptions for +30 vs cold or as Amy said, +10 AL.

If you can get Greater Conflag, & winter, you will see the benefits of +30 vs cold.

It is +30 AL vs elemental for all Ranger armor sets and an additional +15AL vs cold for the frostbound set, but still 115 AL total. But just GC and pyrebound would have a similar effect. Oh, and do add the mesmer's elemental resistance or Mantra of Frost (or Flame).

I just use Druids. Scout's armor is bugged and I don't use stances most of the time. At least not until ANet gives us an Expertise IAS that can be kept up constantly.

Truth be told, I've found more use for the + health armor than the +energy armor. Either is a good choice.

Unless you've got a shortbow, you won't be getting into the fight that often. I suggest the energy.

i'd agree with druids (radiant).
25 energy simply isn't always enough, even with expertise. You're playing pretty far back, so as far as pve goes between the distance and defensive stances, health/armor isn't necessary. however, many ranger builds can get a bit energy-intensive (think splinter barrager if the fight goes long). plus, my favorite build, R/P (with a bow, none of that pack hunter crap) uses a combo that soaks up a good 13 energy, so if you're using that often, you'll want the extra energy.
overall, i find radiant armor to be useful for just about any build.

Doubly Agreed!

Druids armor is maybe the best armor for general PvE, the other armors are A bit more Build-Specific, so Druids will help if you have Energy Intense skills. Also, I noticed you said that you hate the way it LOOKS

(My Interpretation?) so, you might want to go with some nice looking armors.

If you're a Male Ranger You'd like:

Nightfall:
Sunspear
Elite Sunspear*
Vabbian*
Primeval*

Factions:
Luxon
Elite Luxon*
Elite Canthan*

Prophecies:
Druid
Studded Leather
Elite Drakescale*
Elite Studded Leather*
Elite Druid

*Not Cheap...

Or if you're a Female Ranger (Armor is waayyy better ):

Nightfall:
Sunspear
Elite Sunspear**
Vabbian**

Factions:
Luxon
Kurzick
Elite Luxon*
Elite Canthan*
Elite Kurzick*

Prophecies:
Druid
Ascalon
Studded Leather**
Elite Studded Leather***
Elite Druid***

*Not Cheap... again...
**Not Cheap, and I want it
***Not Cheap And I REALLY WANT IT, LIKE I'D KILL FOR IT!

Most of the starred items are 10k per armor piece, most of the time more. Good luck! (b'.')b

Ah, well, that just changed I believe, you'd need Radiant inscriptions now, on any high level armour available.

GC doesn't affect elemental damage, so the GC+Winter combo is a bit more ideal.

Female DrakesScale and or Collectors is nice as well for short bows you could alway use Stalwart. That would help Bunny Thumpers out.

This Means that armor is only for looks now right? So In theroy I could have Elite studded leather, but it could have the same bonuses as Old Druid's armor?

Yup. They applied the Nightfall logic of looks first, then slap some stats on it.

Yeah dude... Just get any armor you like (looks wise) and head to the Rune trader... Buy 5 Radient insignias and apply them to each piece... You will come out with +/- 8 more energy if I am correct...

I personally would suggest + energy or + health. Rangers have pretty stout base armor against elemental damage and good skills to avoid most phyiscal damage on top of 70 AL. For a class with this much armor, additional health to prevent spiking or give a buffer against armor ignoring damage is really the best defensive option imo, but additional energy can also come in handy to make sure you don't miss an interupt or something like that at a critical moment in a long battle.
