That depends on your build and the rest of your equipment. If you have 12/13/16 Critical Hit and you use Zealous Daggers then you won't be needing +8 energy (although it doesn't hurt either).

Having more energy is always better becaues at the beginning of a battle that is were you will use most of your energy, and if your using a fast spamming dagger combo (for PvE this is the best way to go) then you could end up running out of energy fairly quickly right near the first few seconds of the battle. You want to be able to kill and move one with very little down time, having higher energy in this case is much more benifitial than having more armor. If your using good defenses, and have good support you can always stay in the fray of things. More armor is almost always better for PvP as battle don't last very long there. That's my 2 cents from playing Sin from pretty much day one of the bata testing of Factions till now.

A Moebius-db-critical strike build should go for +15al, while a teleporter could do with energy. You know why?

Moebius-DB-CS allows you to spam energy. Basicly allowing you to run with the minimum energy and keeping it at least at half if not 100% full the whole battle. I still feel that in PvE, More energy is much safer than more armor.

Yeah but the crits and zealous daggers will keep the energy up, no need for Energy armor while using a build with fairly high crit. Id say use the energy armor if you have alot of skills that require 10energy especially ones that youll use often.

never go +energy, use e-management instead (what a sin can easily do)
+15 armor is far better

Sometimes go shrouded armor if your combo takes that much energy.

+energy>+armor
The +15 armor while attacking is a bad thing to use in PvE, you'll have much more use for the energy in my opinion.
The thing is, if it was +15 arm constantly (or even +10) it would beat the energy insignia. But for PvE it's rubbish. You are a assassin that either sneak in or teleport in, dish out tons of damage, and get out for a new target. Your not supposed to get attacked at all. And if you get attacked by a heavy mob, that is when the insignia shows it weakness. Hands up, those who uses feigned neutrality for healing? But, your not attacking anymore then, what do you need the armor bonus for then? We all know that trying to attack back at targets and not get out/or heal is a bad idea, so the purpose of the +15 armor isn't....ehrm, any purpose at all... If you get attacked back while you are fighting, you are doing something wrong.
Assassins all over the GW universe, I applaud you. Please stick with the +energy instead, and add a exspensive teleport instead to get you out of the trouble. Shadow Meld is a good one, with high energy you can recast it whenever you like

Assassins are one of the few classes that can make really good use out of +energy armor.
It's simple really. Look at the combo you are doing, and see if you have enough energy to finish it when starting from full. If you don't, add +energy until you do.
Peace,

My thoughts exactly, who really needs the +15% damage on 7-17? 90% of your damage is coming from skills anyway.

What about Survivor insignia? I'm new at playing a sin and I really die a lot lot. A mixture btw survivor and radiant insignia on armor set? I play almost only PvE... for PvP I'll buy another armor set, but for now I need and advice on surviving issue.
