Default Which armour to get

Am in Prophecies campaign, (dont have any others)
Am a level 11 W/Mo, and I need advice on which armour to get. At the moment i'm using a few collector armour from post searing ascalon, and a few collector armour from pre searing. Oh, and a helmet from post searing with +1 strength.

What armour should I go for now?

Also -- Anyone know any good ways I can make money as 11 w/mo?

+ Which weapon should I go for XD I'm on sword at the moment, as I have a gold sword and gold shield given to me by some randomer XD Think I need to change weapons?

In Prophecies?
I like Gladiator's the best, that or Platemail (please, for the love of all things holy... do NOT use a platemail helm! Weapon mastery > Tactics helms)

There's no good ways to make cash at level 11, just keep playing, pick up all your drops and merch them.

And... swords are OK for Prophecies, though I prefer Axes
- Jade, Enchanted, and elementals/golems don't bleed, meaning you cannot use a sword to get a Deep Wound on them (EDIT: There's always Desperation Blow... but that's random)
- Prophecies gives the warrior Eviscerate [skill]Eviscerate[/skill] which kicks ass. The only sword elite in Proph is Hundred Blades, which is lackluster at best.

Gladiator's armour, as a set, gives you extra energy.

It is available from crafters at Yak's Bend and after, and the further through the game you get, the better the armour bonus it gives. The best available is armour 80, available at Droknar's Forge.

Personally, I prefer a Dreadnoughts set (in Prophecies these are called Wyvern (horrid skin, although 15k Dragon > all other Warrior sets), or Platemail) rather than Gladiatiors.

In PvE I'd rather run Cleave than Eviscerate (I'm not saying it's better, it's just my preference), and this leads to Executioner's Strike and Dismember, so 3 adrenaline attacks + Healing Signet + Resurrection Signet = 5 non-energy skills. No need for energy here <--- .

[card]Cleave[/card] [card]Eviscerate[/card] [card]Executioner's Strike[/card] [card]Dismember[/card] [card]Healing Signet[/card] [card]Resurrection Signet[/card]

i would buy platemail armor it looks best with any helmet (not platemail) and i use 100 blades as elite since i think swords look better then axes, and its a good adrenaline gain skill/ AoE skill.

I have to agree with Stormlord Alex I like the Gladiator's amour set for the extra energy and it looks cool.
I use a Victo's Battle Axe as my primary weapon as I feel that axe skills are better for inflicting massive damage in my opinion. Some people like swords better that’s just a mater of personal taste.

Gladiators armor is definitely helpful for the extra energy. It's all my warrior has ever used, and yes, try to save up for the 15k version.

As far as weapon of choice, you should try them all out (sword, axe, hammer) to find your preference. You, by no means, should just stick to one or the other unless you want to. There are many builds out there for each weapon type depending on what you want to do.

You mention wanting to make money. That's a top priority for the majority of players, and there are many ways to do it. Many people farm: in a group or solo. Solo being the most lucrative as you get all the loot. Others are power traders.

Good luck to you

What's with everyone suggesting glads armor? Almost every good pve warrior build uses very little energy at all. I honestly think it's wasteful most of the time. Even in pvp many builds arn't very energy-heavy. They made zealous mods for a reason.

I'd get any armor besides glads. 15k glads looks good, but I rarely need it's energy.

Sorry, but I have to disagree.

My first set of armor was Platemail...and that was a huge mistake. The armor's bonus is weak, +10 is only for elemental damage, and unless your farming creatures that do elemental damage, plate is very useless.

Right now I primarily use 15k glads or ascalon. I find that with glads you need not be wary to take skills such as savage slash, and since im primarily a W/Mo or W/N, the + to energy alows you to cast spell skills without as much pressure to mantain energy. Plus, 15k glads dyed black just looks cool IMO!

In PvE I rarely find that I would need the extra energy from gladiators. However, given the sheer number of enemies attacking Knight's/Ascalon's is probably the most benificial in the long term. If you move to Nightfall, I would consider insignias which add armor while attacking or stanced since you will likely be in that situation more often than not.

Gladiators is nice in that it makes you more offensive, but consider that 7 extra energy is really only enough to spam one more skill during a fight. You'll have to regen that 7 energy before your armor is useful at all.

Extra armor is ALWAYS helpful. While 10 more armor will only reduce damage by another 25%, if you consider the how many mobs will be attacking you it will be far more useful.

Why Ascalon/Knights? Warriors have 116 armor vs. physical damage already, but only 80 vs. elemental damage. It is more useful to have more protection vs. something you are lacking in, instead of physical damage, against which you are already insanely protected against.

Think about it this way: you have 2 exams; science and maths. You are good at maths and crap at science. You would study for science, of course, unless you had sufficient time to study both.

I'm guessing some of you here have a lot of different sets of armor so could test this for me before I buy.

So my quick question is (not liking the helmut off Luxon armor coz you look like a flat head) - would a Kurzick helmut and the rest Luxon armor look cool?

Well met!

Gladiator armor for the energy until you have all your attribute points, then sentinal armor, with helm of weapon of choice (duelist for sword, for example) and runes to go 16 weapon, 13 strength, is the way I would go. You then have enough defense in armor to focus on one thing, killing efficiently.

Thanks all for your replies, and sorry for not replying here, been a little busy. I've read all of these and took all ideas into consideration..
Well, for my warrior, If I get Gladiators or another set shall I get it at Draknors Forge or the 15k place for it? Is that 15k in total or 15k a piece?

It's 15k per piece, but it's not really any better than the 1k stuff at Droknar's. The only real difference is looks.

Now that the insignia update is in, there is no longer a "Best armor art" for prophecies. It all depends on what you want your character to look like.

Now if only all insignias were low cost (100 each like Mesmer runes), then you could choose the set that best suits your build as and when you liked.
As it stands at the moment, the ridiculously over-inflated prices of certain insignias prevents this flexibility.
