What r ur view on this armour?

MY OPINION

Dun u guys perfer spamming watch urself for the + armour benefit rather than
+20 ele armour while str 13?

IMO if u run a str 13 build u wun have decent enough attri to allocate into tactics for efficient use of tactic skills.

example
16 weapon mastery
10 str
10 tactics

watch urself gives party wide +18 armour for 9 seconds for 4 adre.
Pls do not flame or qoute what other say on this thread...

With that out of the way...
The best answer to this question is to have a set of each type of armour. Contrary to popular belief, there ARE builds out there that are incredibly effective and that don't use Tactics.
Ideally, ANet would do the sensible thing and fix insignia and rune prices at a low price level, say 100g each, so that PvE players would have the same degree of flexibility as PvP players.
This would mean that with a minimal investment of money, you could change your armour to best suit your build rather than clogging up your inventory with multiple sets.

And if ANet balk at this idea due to it having an adverse effect on the economy, I would appeal to that side of them that likes money sinks.
Sure, the initial big outlay isn't there, but instead you'll have people spending more money over time, decreasing the amount of gold in circulation.
I would guess that some people would change their armour at every opportunity if this were the case.

In regards to sentinels armor, I personally dislike things that restrict builds, so I run Dragon because it's good in general PvE.

he's not referring to possible grammatical errors or spelling errors. English isn't my native language either, and my english isn't perfect at all. He's pointing to the useless amount of abbreviations and things. It makes the post harder to actually read and indeed looks rather stupid. Writing a comprehensive text > a series of abbreviations.

anyway, on the subject : i personally think 80AL (and 100AL vs physical) is more than enough, so i'd never use sentinel's, nor watch yourself :P

I do agree on the fact that some build might just function fine with no tactics, but even then i'd rather take energy or HP armor instead of sentinel's

I have a spare set of Sentinel's, not the greatest of armours, true, but when I'm running 13 Strength (actually quite often, Hero monks are awesome) I'll wear it.

BTW, the only time I use my sentinels armor is when farming the likes of Imps, Hydras etc. etc.

Not the most useful set of armor out there.

By the way -- wouldn't Sentinel's be pretty thoroughly useless if there's Weakness around?

But then, weakness is a problem with attribute breakpoints in general. Example: Shield attribute reqs.

Weakness makes sentinel's BAD because it means you have to run 14 strength to maintain the bonus at all times.

Unless your build uses strength skills to their maximum benefit (no not the Defy pain garbage)

Anyway, I think Dreadnought's is worth it since the armor bonus is unconditional and most non-physical damage is elemental. The non physical and nonelemental damages include holy/shadow/dark/chaos which usually come from armor ignoring spells or wand-ing.

As for not many elemental creatures causing weakness. It is false, mainly because not only elementalists cause weakness. Enervating charge is spammed by Mursaat. Ebon Hawk is spammed by the Stoneshard Crags. Enfeeble is seen in Sorrow's Furnace very often. All the hammer chains with Devastating hammer or Staggering Blow use weakness also. You're all alone corsairs...etc.

Here's an indepth list of the skills, since I won't bother listing every mob that uses weakness.

Thats why you only use sentinels when farming, im not saying everyone should go running around with 13 strength. Plus, a good portion of elemental creatures that are commonly farmed do NOT cause weakness.
