R/Rt FoW Forest farmer.
It uses the same basic idea as the R/Me build. The main idea of this build is to focus on spiders primarily because they are the hardest and everything else just falls into place after them. The other monsters in this area are probably solo-able with any random bow build. Here is the skill set-up:
[skill]Poison Arrow[/skill][skill]distracting shot[/skill][skill]Kindle arrows[/skill][skill]Dodge[/skill][skill]Storm Chaser[/skill][skill]Resilient weapon[/skill][skill]weapon of shadow[/skill][skill]Wielder's boon[/skill]
Stats:
Expertise: 9 (recommended)
Restoration Magic: 8+
Marksmanship: Mines 12 (whatever your highest bow req. is)
Wilderness Survival: Anything Left. (mines 12 I think)
Equipment:
Longbow (I use a +7 vs. Ele, Fire modded Jade longbow)
Shortbow (I use +5 armor, Poison length lasts 33% longer Shortbow)
Possible replacements:
Weapon of shadow is pretty weak, it has only minimal use and could possibly replaced for Troll unguent(or another weapon spell, to maximize wielder's boon?) for another solid heal agaisn't anything but the spiders.
Dodge can be replaced if you have no problems using one run move, I do for some reason its better for me to use two and doesn't replace anything essential.
Spirit Shepards(Longbow) *VERY EASY
Don't Aggro or you will be barraged with spells, its survivable if you move out of aggro but can cause death if your stupid. The longbow keeps you out of spell casting range, keep aware of your aggro bubble.
Kindle arrows, Poison arrow, (weapon spell+ wielder's boon for healing), *Storm chaser for energy management (they use ele attacks and you will gain +4 energy each time they hit you)
Spirit Woods (Shortbow): *EASY
Interrupt Troll unguent obviously (used at roughly 65% health). You should start with nightmare weapon so you blind them for x seconds, this will give you enough time to considerably damage one of the usual two spirit woods. After the blindness wears off you should have the first one almost dead. Start attacking the next using the same moves (kindle, poison) and healing when neccessairy.
Kindle Arrows, Poison Arrow, Nightmare Weapon, Weapon spell+ wielder's boon for healing. No energy management.
Spirit Shepards + Spirit wood (longbow): *EASY
Target the spirit wood first because he will do the most damage, remember to interrupt his unguent.. it makes it go smoother. You shouldn't die from these because of the unlimited energy you have when you activate storm chaser, and their meger damage. Use the strategies above.
Spiders (shortbow): *EASY with expierence *MEDIUM without.
Don't attempt to take on two, the damage will rack up and end up killing you or leaving you running with little life. Start by using kindle arrows, and engage with poison arrow. The spider will then use Apply poison, keep attacking. He will then use Healing spring, just a normal attack will interrupt then activate Resilient weapon. The key to this fight is keeping up Resilient weapon and using wielder's boon when in need of a little life. Keep at him using this strategy and he will fall by the time you reach about 150-200 life. At level 8 restoration it will completely negate the spiders poison degen. DON'T INTERRUPT HIS APPLY POISON, obviously it is the key to the build and fighting these nasty things.
It is a very easy build to use and once you get the hang of it you will rock. It doesn't take much to get the hang of it either (5,10 minutes?). I'm looking for further input on how to modify the build for even more efficient fow farming. ENERGY MANAGEMENT is important when up agaisn't spiders, you can find yourself depleted if your not careful. It does take a lot of unresponsible casting but it is possible. Good luck with the build, I would love feedback and people to test it out and improve on it . Thanks to the creator of the R/Me build for the basic ideas!

dont want to discourage you, but the R/me is better .
the build i use:
Aply poison-burning arrow-distractshot-savage-shot-Troll urgent-storm chaser- physical resistance-mantra of lightning.
use a fiery longbow of defense/warding for every except spiders, for spiders, i use a zealous shortbow of shelter. giving me +47 armor vs spiders.
distract aply, and savage healing.
and dont use blind on them, it gives them +4 regen for free :O

Nice build, JGS!
I did R/Me (kindle/poison arrow) myself and lately and R/A (for Death's Charge to skip the skeletals at the bridge to the Wailing Lord). Last time I did a Forest run was during the free access weekend, though. I'll try this one out after getting the rit skills.
May I ask those who still do run, how are the drops nowadays? Can you still make enough to cover the 1k entrance? How about the Shard drops? (Aiming for FOW armor, not looking to selling them)
It's been lagging like heck for me at the Euro servers, so much so that I can't have a worry-free run to the Forest. Maybe this weekend, when everyone's away at the arenas, I'll try it again...

You easily get the entrance fee back. The slow non-AoE kills net you more drops.
I would swap Weapon of Shadow for Trolls, it's nice and handy to have it.

I hope you tried mine before putting in your input. Also, my build offers +24 armor and NO degen well yours offers +40 and -4 degen, you take around 35% less damage then me with degen. I prefer my build and you would never use weapon of shadow when fighting spiders because you need resilent weapon on the whole time, cant have two weapon spells on at a time. Also Weapon of shadow is a waste of a slot and consider replacing with another rt skill from the rest line (suggestions?). Thanks for the positive encouragement ! haha
I got 3 shards and about 3k in stuff last run

huray, i do distract aply poison :O giving me +40 armor and 0 regen/degen. and my spiders have -3 degen, and your build gives them no degen
/quitflaming
a good rit spell might be splinter for groups, or maybe hunters shot, adding another -3 degen on the first foe you hit. or maybe vengefull weapon, stealing some life, might help a little bit with foes

splinter weapon would require attributes in channeling magic, something you cannot spare.

I'm sorry but Mantra of Lightning is for noobs, new to FoW Forest farming... anyone who can actually call themselves experienced with it can easily survive without it. If you seem to think you'd run out of energy, i have 2 words for you. [skill]Storm Chaser[/skill]
I've cleared this place with many builds... Enraged Beastmaster, Barrage, Burning Arrow, Prep Shot, all using a Fiery Pruning bow. Barrage works extremely fast if you can group them up properly and leaves you plenty of space for utility/running skills (use FW!), probably no good anymore thanks to loot scaling giving you bugger all for multikills. Burning Arrow is easily maintable energy wise if you use Storm Chaser properly and it really does take Spiders to the cleaners. Prep Shot was good for spam, used Screaming Shot for spiders too but probably not as good now Melandru's Resiliance meets its recharge and gives +4 regen.
Poison/Kindle is so very slow vs Spiders... you can't use your Prep and your elite is now completely useless since they will have perma +4 regen while its on them so your left with physical attacks. Mantra of Lightning is very much useless once you've got the basics of the run sorted. Physical Resistance is only needed if you don't have enough damage for the Spiders.
