It works but if they're 'greyed out' then loot-scaling kicks in I think.

still works if you're farming greens, as Anticancer said the greens are exempt from loot scaling.

Before I was able to bring my ranger to Altruum Ruins, I brought my warrior and hero/henched the three bosses outside the place. Got a number of those prot monk and curse necro greens, they're on my heroes now

Thats pretty irrelevant, he's asking if the hench still has a chance of getting the drop even if the henchman is "flagged away".

Bingo.

And since they are exempt, any heros/henchmen/people in your party that are greyed out futher your chances of getting a green. So yes, flagging DEFINATLY works.

Suppose your in a group of 8 people, and they have all ran off in an exploreable areas to do their own thing. You notice your group left a Boss that drops a green, and you kill it. Since your the only ally in the area, your chances of YOU getting that green are 100%, IF it drops. Heros may get greens...we just don't seem them drop now do we .

So yes, you can flag your henchmen/hero's away...it works and its the best way to green farm. It works.
