Rangers used in DoA
Why are we never used in the DoA area. I know they are used for Famine\105 and Trapping. We, however, are never used in the actual quest. I just got to the DoA area last night and after about 2 hours of looking for a group, while doing other stuff, I just simply gave up. So is not finding a group normal for the Mallyx quest?
Also, I don't really want to remake a thread like this in the Paragon section so can someone tell me if paragons also never get into a group for the quest. Just need a yes or a no.
Thank you in advance

Because everyone uses the same e-build for DOA, in which Rangers don't fit.

No, Rangers never really get into a group. DoA is a sufficiently harsh environment that only a small subsets of strategies are successful with average players, and Rangers largely do not fit into those. 99% of DoA groups follow the same general build template and do not vary significantly.
If you want to do DoA, roll up an Ele or a Monk.
Peace,

If you can find a group using a 600 Monk tank, then Rangers are needed to keep Quickening Zephyr up.
R/E's can tank as well.

True a R/E can tank, but an E/Mo can tank better, thats why they go.
Head over to ToPK and refuse to invite nonrangers into your group for kicks as revenge. Sure its an old and boring mission, but hey, rangers still own the place

Keep in mind rangers are used in almost all other elite mission areas. So the other classes get a chance somewhere. I have accepted it and famine trap there, but would like to see a solid b/p group tear thru there, maybe even a urgoz style group I dunno. I do not go many places in DoA unless I chest run.

I'm no really familiar with DoA apart from famine farming and stygian traping.
My question is:
How do splinter barrage-pet teams work in DoA? is it possible?
also what would be a good tanking build for rangers in DoA because i rlly think they would be more than decent (evasive stances, high elemetal armor etc.)
Thx in advance

Splinter Barrage, and B/P are useless in DoA, because the common tactic to beat it consists of teleporting behind a gate with just the tank on the other side, and then nuking from behind a wall.

Yes. As a paragon I have trouble getting into a group in DoA. They tell me it's too weak for the quest.

I have been looking at trying out a B/P grooup in DoA just as a test and then may be alter the build accordingly from there but I need people who can and would come and help me. Is anyone willing to try it?
