Geotanker
So we all know the Kurzicks built the Touchers, and now we're hearing about the Geotankers from the Luxons. It may become popular, it may not. But any Luxon fellow wanna share a Geotanker build here?

+25 armor bonus made it less effective, but it's usually some combination of obsidian flesh, armor of earth, stoneflesh aura, sliver armor, mystic regen, fleeting stability...

basic geotank build originally consisted of something along the lines of armour of earth + kinetic armour + ward of stability + either ele attunement for energy management and heal or obs flesh for defense and then obs flame stone daggers and crystal wave for some offense with the 8th slot being optional. useful in some farming situations but too prone to strippers interrupters and degen to have real practical use in pvp imo

Lord, it also does bugger all damage, having no practical use in any form of serious PvP.
However... there are situations in AB where they come of use (I'll kick myself for saying that )
If you fight against bad players (most of the time... the best person I've ever seen in AB was Mokone ) then they'll happily wail on you for... well... ages. They likely suck far too much to kill you, and you can happily tie up quite a large number of foes, essentially turning a 12 v 12 into an 11 v 6. However, against anyone with a slight of intelligence, the build is useless.

Earth tanks are a build that rely on other people's stupidity, and hence only make them good under the right circumstances.
Any combination of Stoneflesh Aura, Armor Of Earth, Mystic Regen or Stonestriker and Mantra of Earth will create a decent Earth Tank.

easiest build to counter: just ignore them and kill their friends, they won't kill you with there armor! To many self defense skills and no room left for a truely offensive and balanced build to be really considered as worthwhile.
It only exploits the weakness of the opponent not using his/her brains: who just keeps on hitting the geotanker and so making it a 11 vs 6 instead of 12 vs 12 like mentioned a few posts before me!

The real threat about the geotankers in AVA are not their capabilities to be invincible to AVA scrubs, but to solo cap the shrines.
"Good" geotankers will rarely throw themselves into battle. But they will solo cap many shrines and really annoy you whith this.

A mind blaster can solo cap a shrine in about 5 seconds anyway, moves faster, and can actually kill players while providing support to the squad. The only reason to take tanker builds is if you really want to lose all faith in the public education system.

/agree with the good Dr... There's no reason to run them unless you wanna tie up idiots. A fire build can cap faster, while being more dangerous offensively.

It was actually pretty funny taking a warrior tank into Fort Aspenwood and watching them wail on me for hours on end while the rest of the team kills Gunther. GG.

I use a modified smite farming build in AB. I was on Luxon...but had to change to kurzick emos after my guild switched. Ive never run fire before because earth has never let me down. I assume its E/Rt with wielders boon and wep of warding?

not a good idea when you face enchant removel, so it all depends where you want to play it. Or enough degen can still kill you too. Its just a build, don't think its an über build or so, it aint, and will never become it.
