Team/Builds

In most areas in Prophecies a Minion Master (MM) is really needed, for 2 reasons. 1. First, minions can do a large amount of damage, if your MM controls 10 minions. Second, minions can take the damageinstead of your party members. I’ve written behind each area how much minion masters are useful there. Some areas don’t have corpses (Cursed Lands, Culture Drifts) or the monsters deal holy damage (Snake Dance). In those areas you should switch to another Hero. In most areas 1 minion master is enough (most 6 person areas). But sometimes there is need for an additional minion master. This is because the mobs contain more monsters and take longer to defeat (Ice Dome, Lornar’s Pass, Tasca’s Demise). 2 minion masters means a lot of damage, but beware of the big health sacrifice, when your heroes use Blood of the Master.

Aura of the lich
Animate bone fiend
Blood of the master
Taste of death
Signet of lost souls
Blood ritual
Aegis or heal party (minion masters always have high energy, so aegis or heal party can be cast often)
Another useful skill: condition removal/hex removal/heal other/protective spirit
Resurrection signet

Death Magic: 15
Soul Reaping: 12
Healing/protection prayers: 8
Blood magic: 4

Secondly, a Spiteful Spirit (SS) Necromancer is useful in most areas. SS does not depend on corpses, so it is also useful in areas like cursed lands.

Spiteful Spirit
Insidious Parasite
Reckless Haste
Enfeebling Blood
Signet of Lost Souls
Mark of pain
Blood Ritual
Resurrection signet

16 curses
13 soul reaping
Put the rest in blood magic

I am monk. I first used LoD Holy haste healing build. But now I use a ZB prot build. This is the build, sometimes with variantions depending on the area to vanquish.

Reversal of Fortune
Protective Spirit
Guardian
Zelous Benediction
Glyph of Lesser Energy
Aegis
Pain Inveter
Rebirth(safest resurrection skill)

Strategies

Most area’s will be easy to vanquish if you use this teambuild. For some area’s, additional precautionary measures must be taken:

Ice Floe
Focus on the mursaat, not on the ice imps. The mursaat are much harder to kill compared to the ice imps. I made a mistake and focused on the ice imps. I took acolyte Jin with Greater Conflagration, for the double damage. But the mursaat were a much bigger problem, although I vanquished it in one time.

Talus Chute
When reaching the resurrection shrine in the northwest, near camp rankor, be sure not to activate it. I had it already activated, and then tried to defeat the large group of avicara just in front of the shrine. Then I died and we all respawned, but got killed immediately again. This happened a few times after each other. We all had 60 DP, then we managed to run. Then, kill all the grawl. This will reduce your Death Penalty, then focus on the avicara. Tip: Pain inverter will kill Avicara Fierce in 2 strikes, so always cast in on the fierce.

Majesty’s Rest
Probably hardest area. Me, as a monk used the symbiosis/many enchantments build to defeat rotscale. Otherwise it is very hard. Check the screenshot:

Sage Lands
Don’t take your MM here, as it will be useless. The many moss scarabs use Verata’s gaze, so the minions will only be additional foes to kill.

The Falls
Be sure to take your MM here. If you don’t, it’s hard to vanquish. Your minions will be the target of the skales and the wind riders. If they attack your party members, you will die soon.

Eastern frontier
Kill a few devourers first, do you can animate some minions. If you have 10 minions, you have enough firepower to defeat the grawl. Tip: Cast pain inverter on the warrior, cast technobabble on the monk. Check the screenshot for the teambuild:

Skyward Reach
Very hard. I used Echo+Protective Spirit. I first casted PS on every party member, and then ran in the hydra’s. Pain inverter, SS, Shutdown mesmer all work well. Check the screenshot for the Echo/Protective Spirit and hero builds:

Caravan vanquishes

Temple of Ages: Talmark wilderness > tears of the fallen > twin serpent lakes (2 extra henchies allowed from toa)
Yaks bend: diessa lowlands > flame temple corridor > dragon’s gullet (2 extra henchies allowed from yaks)
Camp rankor: Snake dance > dreadnought’s drift > lornar’s pass (You can also choose to vanquish Snake Dance eperately, as Snake Dance has very different monsters. A MM is useful in Dreadnought's Drift and Lornar's pass, but useless in Snake Dance, as there is many holy damage from azure shadows and griffons in Snake Dance)

Good job, this will be very useful. I'll have to rework every single build tough(as everyone isn't a monk)

I recommend the discordway for Tyrian vanquish. One other important note is for the Snake Dance Caravan vanquish you really need some enchant removal, since groups can spawn with 3 healers spamming Mark of Protection..

An SoS rit works very well too, the spirits provide some nice reliable armor ignoring damage and can be used in much the same way as minions to pseudo tank hard fights. They also have awesome skills like splinter weapon and ancestor's rage, and can fit resto heals, smite support, or prot spells on their bar.

For hydras the key was a combination of technobabble and just good flagging, a meteor shower can't really hit a moving target and you can get them to use them on minions or spirits.

And for wind riders, flag your three heroes and the two henchies in a box formation with the healers in the back and plenty of space between them so that when the CoF spam goes off it won't hit the healers. If you have an MM put them in the frontmost position and if you have spirits put them just in front of the party.

Also, you can caravan vanquish the entire crystal desert with an 8-man party if you have nightfall, by going into crystal overlook with an 8-man party and talking to the forgotten guardian who will teleport you into the desert.

I'm going to max the Tyrian Vanquisher title, running mostly balanced groups for my own challenge...so i'd say:
1- Here's not used or mentioned, but a mesmer or a ER protter helps a LOT.
2-In some areas ( a couple in the jungle for example) you'll face a hevy enchantement removal and caster hate. SoS, MM (no aotl or masochism!) or a ST instead of ER are the best choices.
3-I've done Rotscale easily using a HEAVY AoE build: SF and glyph of sacrifice+Meteor shower on me, 2 monks with arcane echo(microed)+roj and a UA, plus henc. Just run and gun: first, the foes on the bridge and spawn; one side and then the other. You'll die a couple of times inbetween but then rotscale should be alone. Reach and kill him
