Default How difficult is it to get the Primeval armor set?

This is the ONLY mesmer armor that I like. I am thinking of buying nightfall just to get it. I already have the money and materials required. Is it true that you can only buy it after completing the final nightfall mission? If so, how difficult and how much time would that take?

Yes.

It depends if you're good at steamrolling through pve or not. If you are, then it shouldn't take very long to beat the game.

Not too long to get through NF. Started on my main char (necro) 3 days ago and I'm 2 away from the final mission.

The Primeval set is only available when you complete the last mission. Also, there are no merchants, material traders or storage NPCs in the end-area where the armor crafter is (and to get back to that area a second time you need to complete the last mission again), so you will need to make sure you have all the materials and cash you need in your inventory before you do the last mission.

Getting there is not particularly difficult. It's just a bit time consuming. If you're a Tyrian/Canthan character transferring into Nightfall, you will start at mission 4 and will be spared the Sunspear point grind before mission 5 so you save a little time that way. For reference, the last mission is mission 17 (there are 20 missions in total, but 3 of them will be skipped depending on the heroes you choose to work with - you can go back and do those other missions another time).

Overall, it's not particularly difficult and doable in a weekend if you focus yourself on that singular goal.

Although keep in mind that the last part of Nightfall - Real Of Torment - is a bitch.
I was stuck there for weeks (I am looking at you "Kormir's Crusade"! But then again - I just went through it on my Necro a few days ago and saw how much I sucked back then! I just steamroll though it these days!)
Seriously - they should just bloody take out Protective Spirit so that 400+ damage skills aren't "O.K"!
Lazy bastards!

There .... my rant of the day! Now I can go back to having normal blood pressure again!

If your worried about how long it will take to beat the game, don't be. After completing Prophecies and Factions with my mesmer i then decided to beat Nightfall, even though imo its the worst campaign. I was at consulate docks already and by the following evening i was ursaning in DoA. It took me about 7 hours to do the whole thing, but then ive done it before, it will be harder if youve never beaten this campaign before.

yes, and about materials you are correct, but don't worry about messing up with materials since the last mission is short and easy.
