Default Ice Dome.

I was doing a run today, this guy asked me to run him from droks to grotto (never done this before), i said yes, because i could run anywhere with my derv, without problems. So I got through talus chute with little trouble at all, very easy. Then came Ice Dome. Out of about a year and a half of running, i've never seen anything like this. I mean the droks run has some pretty big mobs, but they're pretty easy to get through, but Ice Dome went WAAAAAYYYYY over the line. The difficulty of getting through this place is legendary. You get absolutely no breaks at all, just constant mob after mob, full of ice golems and stone summits. Even with +10 regen and Vow of Silence, you can't get through this. One second without VoS will declare instant defeat, because the density of the ice golems will be sure that they cast Ice Spikes on you, even in one second. The melee alone just kills you damn near instantly. I don't have any idea what was going the the game makers minds when they did this, but, wow. I from now on will refrain from passing through that hell like place. Even though it's so small, over 200 foes are cramped together in it. I just can't believe it....

The area isn't that hard, and maybe you should know that Anet wasn't thinking 'OMG you can't run through this place lets make it easy'. When you fight through it really isn't that hard.

Yes, but I am not talking about fighting through it.

yeah, the only build in the game that can make that run is a perma-shadow form. thats why people pay so highly for this run. southern peaks tour is still more profitable

Nope. I recall it being done back in the prophecies days, I think either on a warrior or monk.

A Mo/R with serpent's quickness/spell breaker/storm chaser used to be able to do it. Since no skill was changed I guess it still works.

Call me crazy, but usually when anet makes an area I would expect them to be thinking of the people who are fighting through it rather then runners. If its so bad, fill rest of party with heroes and hench, then have them fight through ice dome and run through all other areas.

You can still do this run with a Warrior, actually. Some of the "newer" skills make it a lot easier than it used to be. Though it's not really worth it, when you can just get a Monk to do it instead.

Why do a solo run anyways?

If your taking one person then you should always take heros

Use hero's to divert aggro.

If your running an entire team of people....thats when you should complain!

There's nothing wrong with that area, it's one of the most fun to fight through(vanquish) IMO.
Running doesn't means anything in this game, because that's simply not what's meant to be done. You can't complain when you can't get through an area all by yourself. That's why anet gave you hench/heroes.

If you can't run through it, fight.

Or employ someone to run it for you.
