[RT] Build Help!
I am at the Unwalken Waters mission in factions with my Ritualist. I love her, but I can never find a good build to stick with. I do not like to have many different builds. I was just wondering which out of communing, channeling, and restoration you find funnest and easiest.
If you can leave builds as well, that is greatly appreciated. Also, are splinter barrage ritualists or any ritualist builds using bows good? Thanks!

Most used PvE rit build for me:
[skill]splinter weapon[/skill]
[skill]ancestors' rage[/skill]
[skill]Weapon of Warding[/skill] or [skill]weapon of shadow[/skill]
Some PvE skill, usually the ebon vanguard ward or another defensive skill like [skill]protective was kaolai[/skill] or pure was li ming.
Another utility slot/PvE skill, often pain inverter, summoned sin or [skill]spirit rift[/skill]
[skill]offering of spirit[/skill]
[skill]recovery[/skill] or [skill]life[/skill] or [skill]recuperation[/skill]
[skill]death pact signet[/skill]
The only things glued to my bar are splinter, rage, DP signet and offering. 4 slots to push out whatever utility you like most is awesome.
Pasted from another post by me. I'm really just phoning it in at this point.

If you go Channeling/Restoration as the post above me...and have heroes, take a warrior hero with an AoE attack (Cyclone Axe, Triple Chop, Crude Swing) to ensure you have an AoE warrior hero for Splinter-Rage lulz. It turns PvE into Joke-Mode.

Thanks for the build Dr Strangelove!
It looks great.
I found this one on wiki, what do you think?
-weapon of quickening
-bloodsong
-essence strike
-spirit burn
-gaze from beyond
-spirit rift
-optional
-flesh of my flesh
also,
-boon of creation
-explosive growth
-animate bone minions
-flesh golem
-death nova
-blood of the master
-signet of creation
-flesh of my flesh
Thanks!

That one isn't very good. The two strongest channeling spells you can bring are splinter weapon and ancestor's rage. There is absolutely no reason why any channeling build should not have them. They're that good, and often constitute the entire reason to bring a rit.
Other than that... I'm not wild about weapon of quickening, when I've used it. The real strength is maintaining it on a bunch of eles to turbocharge your group, but the uptime is so short and the cast time so long that you end up spending a huge chunk of time casting it - time better spent in other areas. It's not terrible though, play around with it if you like it.
The channeling direct damage spells (spirit burn, gaze from beyond) are somewhat weak, as they have been nerfed thanks to ritspike. I've never really been impressed by them, but if you're not comfortable running a hybrid bar, I guess they fill space nicely.

I'm less than wild about rit minion bombers, but they certainly work. There's a couple threads on that if you're thinking about going this route -

The thing is, Ritualists don't have to stick with one good build, though, for the most part, Channeling/Restoration Hybrids are the most effective. (a.k.a. the metagame) It is quite effective, for not many professions can support offense and defense with the same ease as Ritualists.
This is what I will run once i cap WoR.
[skill]Ancestors' Rage[/skill] [skill]Splinter Weapon[/skill] [skill]Weapon of Remedy[/skill] [skill]Vengeful Weapon[/skill] or [skill]Weapon of Warding[/skill] [skill]Protective was Kaolai[/skill] [skill]Wielder's Boon[/skill] [skill]Mend Body and Soul[/skill] [skill]Flesh of my Flesh[/skill] or [skill]Death Pact Signet[/skill]
12+1 Channeling
12+1+1 Restoration
3 Spawning
Insignias: Full Herald's (I hold onto Protective was Kaolai as much as I can for the armor boost and an emergency party heal. The addition of the Herald's Insignias gives me +34 armor, 6 less than a warrior )
Runes: whatever you like. I'd go for two Survivors on the Chest and Legs and the best Vigor rune you can get, but if you're terrible at managing your energy, then, by all means, get radiant and attunement runes.
Weapons: +Armor/+energy/long or flatbow/emergency energy or whatever you want.
The skill, [skill]Spirit's Strength[/skill], makes the rit compatible with all melee professions (except Warrior. DON'T DO IT). /R /A & /P tend to be the best. Rits have 60 max AL, so "tanking" is stupid.
I do not like the Splinter Barrage build. Though effective in PvE, I wouldn't encourage you to run it on your Rit, for 1.Rangers do it better and 2.it's unbalanced and too dependent on the two skills. If you're gonna use a bow, cap Spirit's Strength.

I only run it as a War, simply because it is strong.

QFT.
(The only thing I'm not so hot on is the insignias. I'm far more partial to Ghost Forge, though having both sets is certainly a good idea.)
There really isn't much else for it. Those bars are indeed the most solid performance you'll get out of the Rit. You can even possibly dump Mend Body for something else tbh (Spirit Light is great for similar reasons to why Infuse is amazing for example).
Another skill that can help out is [skill]Ether Signet[/skill]. Sure you can use Offering but I prefer using WoR and this works well with Kaolai.
Until Anet make some improvements to the non-spirit skills in Communing (you know you want to ^_^), there really isn't much else to do with the rit without running into severe inefficiency.

I should mention that channeling/resto isn't the only possibility. Channeling can give you a pile of energy that can be used on just about anything. I've run:
/E for wards, especially ward of stability vs. giants
/Mo for convert hexes, aegis, or extinguish
/W for shields up
/Me for that anti-interrupt stance thingy, hex eater signet, or expel hexes.
And some other stuff. The point is that rits are in a great position to jam their bars full of fun and useful toys, since they have the energy, attribute points, and bar space to do so.

Just use a channeling build.
[skill]spirit rift[/skill][skill]ancestors' rage[/skill][skill]offering of spirit[/skill][skill]bloodsong[/skill]
That's all you need for Unwaking Waters.
OR
You could try Spirit Spamming.
[skill]wanderlust[/skill][skill]pain[/skill][skill]shadowsong[/skill][skill]anguish[/skill][skill]disenchantment[/skill][skill]dissonance[/skill][skill]mighty was vorizun[/skill][skill]flesh of my flesh[/skill]

Well, let's see. There are 7 Communing skills. Maybe 12 in Communing?
Spawning Power makes the spirits stronger. There are six spirit skills. Maybe 12 in Spawning Power?

To truly spam spirits, use [skill]ritual lord[/skill] or [skill]soul twisting[/skill]
If you have Nightfall, Agony and Vampiric Spirit are nice skills to have.
If we only had 1 monk, I went Restoration. If we had at least 2 monks, I went spirit spammer.
I used:
[skill]pain[/skill]
[skill]dissonance[/skill]
[skill]bloodsong[/skill] when it was Communion at the time
[skill]disenchantment[/skill]
[skill]ritual lord[/skill]
[skill]boon of creation[/skill]
[skill]signet of capture[/skill]
[skill]flesh of my flesh[/skill]
Replace Bloodsong with [skill]spirit to flesh[/skill]
I did that mission several times.
Getting rid of those spores are a big priority. Now I use other spirits to waste them.
Channelling is fun as well (I use that when I H/H in quests).
Spirits are more for dungeons.

Optional spirit of your choice, [skill]Shelter[/skill] can be spammed with this, but use the 7 spawning set up to make it last.
a rit hard rez
A self respecting Spirit Spammer... wait can u use those words in a singe sentence?
... A self respecting Spirit Spammer uses Channeling Magic, these days.
The spirits will take down a target fast when you guide them a little, and use [skill=text]Painful Bond[/skill] correctly, [skill=text]Assassin's Promise[/skill] rarely fails because of that and has a good chance of recharging your spirits before [skill=text]Ritual Lord[/skill] would have.

Thanks so much everyone, I have found a good pve build and beat factions with it
-splinter weapon
-ancestors rage
-spirit rift
-weapon of warding
-signet of spirits [E]
-bloodsong
-gaze from beyond
-flesh of my flesh (yes i know, bad rez, but i can't get death pact signet)
So anyways, I am happy with this build. But now, I am in need of a good farming build. I plan of capping vengegul was khanhei cause i know it is used in most solo farming builds. So any of your farming builds that have worked/work well are greatly appreciated, as well as tips on farming. Oh, i will be farming in HM but where in factions is a good place? Thanks!

For farming, I think the only skills you really need are [skill]Vengeful was Khanhei[/skill][skill]Vengeful Weapon[/skill][skill]arcane echo[/skill] & [skill]Ancestors' Rage[/skill]
