Default A change I'd like to see for Entangling Asp

I'd like to see this become a touch skill with 1/4 sec cast time, and a damage componant to compensate for the loss of range (perhaps ~100 at 16 deadly arts).

Yes this would completely nerf the current DD spamming builds, and yes this would be a good thing. The skill required for monks to stay alive is completly asymetric with the 1234 nature of this build.

DD spam is worse then sp sins. Since the nerf DD spammers have appeared everywhere. I applaud all the other sins coming up with other builds then this crap.

Let see: SKill. Must follow a leet attack. Target touch foe is KD and suffer 40...100 damage and poison for 5..21 seconds.

O i cy dat eez a nerf.

That's ridiculous. A sin can easily just use death's charge+this to make it insanely powerful.

Entangling Asp hasn't recieved one both or one nerf since its creation.

It has also never won a competitive game ever until nightfall.

Thus without Deadly paradox.
Entangling asp is shit.

I say hell no. The skill is not overpowered, and any more nerfs to sins, I won't buy GW2. Anet always picks on sins, because lil noobs think they are OP and don't figure out how to kill a sin.


The skill is, like ensoriki said, shit without paradox.

People would just run Augury => Shadow Prison => Iron Palm => Holy Strike => Entangling Asp => Stonesoul Strike => Signet of Toxic Shock

Let's see... that's 94 + 94 from Entangling and SoTS, 47 from Iron Palm, 92 + 92 from the smiting skills, and Deep Wound... meanwhile your target is sitting on their behind watching his red bar plummet to 0...

Yeah that would be nasty, and not at all what I'd intend. I guess this is the problem too many sin skills lend themsleves to cheap gimmiks

I'm sure in GvG the DD spamming sins are a non-issue, however they're a plague in TA or RA. If the chain only did damage with no shutdown it would be fine, if it only did shutdown with no damage it would also be fine - however together it's just too powerful IMO.

So to the hostile forum denizians, do YOU have a better suggestion?

Make Asp 5 energy, reduce recharge, take away the knock down. Fixed. DA spikers are overpowered because of all the knock downs, without that they are more than beatable.

Something like

Stance. For 5..15 seconds, all your attack skills are disabled for 10 seconds, and all your assasin skills activate and recharge 75% faster. Everytime you use this skill, you suffer 60...35% death penalty and -20 health degen.

Signet. Entangling Asp must follow a lead attack. Target foe is knocked down and becomes Poisoned for 9 seconds.

Deadly Paradox
Stance. All of your attack Skills are disabled for 10 seconds. For 8 seconds, your Assassin Spells activate and recharge 33% faster.

paradox. All your assassin enchantments activate and recharge 50% faster
All hostile hexes cast at you activate 50% slower and last 50% longer.

Seriously just leave entangling the RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO alone.
What can it do without paradox?

Do Horns+ fallings job.

For 20 second recharge, No damage and 10 energy? With 1 second cast time!?!!!!

Hmm, how about actually making it into an offhand? That way it can be chained with useful dagger attacks in a chain.

There's one other thing that it does in the Assassacaster and that is help out slightly with preventing kiting/interrupting selfheals due to its full radar range. Making it halfrange would lend a little more kitability against the standard DP chain and ensure that it could be used as utility in a DM/DA hybrid build using Deadly Haste.
