Meh, all I know is I'm not getting drops anymore, before it was about 1 gold a run, now nothing, I even went away and did 3 missions and farmed a few other areas before I came back to it. I will keep trying and see if I start getting something other than crappy white drops again.

Thanks for this thread guys.
I started this farm last night with my Assassin. I ran the recommended A/E fire build (earlier post).
I saw the potential right away, but was having problems running in as a fast fire djinn and then popping off all the skills in time. I did find that if I collected a large group and then stood in between the wall of the cave and a rib-cage that sticks out of the ground, the raptors usually couldn't run away. I also added intensity to the build that was at PVXWIKI. Firestorm, sacrifice, Meteor Shower, Bed of Coals, Intensity. = Most dead. Finish last few with another fire djinn.
The first few runs were OK. Usually because I didn't collect them all. Once I got better at the run, and was collecting 25+ raptors (not the boss group), they'd all die, and ONE ITEM (saurian bone or other crap) would drop. That sucked.
I loaded up the old ele-sword farmer build (sliver armor bouncing sin). SF, shadow of haste or something (at work, can't think of exact skill), death's charge in, run around a little to collect, and then Ele Glyph, Sliver Armor, Intensity, Radiation Field, and a PBAoE blast (snowstorm might also work). Bounce out using deadly paradox (cancel - stance). Wait a sec, bounce back in.
Immediately noticed a HUGE increase in the drops. Then I started working on optimizing the run.
For me, this a slight build tweak:
SF, Death's Charge, Dark Escape (a "long" speed boost), Glyph of Ele Power, Sliver, Intensity, Radiation, "Freebie Blast Skill or Air of Superior".
Zone in, dark escape run to shrine attendant. Run down to the cave. Move into the cave as close as I can without setting aggro. By now Dark Escape is recharged. Start aggro, pop Shadow Form, Pop Speed Boost, run a small curve in the cave to pick up as MANY nestlings as possible (in a few seconds), then death's charge to Broodmother. Glyph, Sliver, Intensity, and keep moving close to the broodmother. Also, staff her once so she wont' run if she gets targetted. You NEED her to die. Her death resets the Shadowform. If you die, the run isn't quite as good, but still decent, just repeat the above steps.
Once SF resets from broodmother death, cast immediately, and also cast a radiation field. Recast radiation field again before your SF wears off. Also recast glyph, sliver, and intensity when they are nearing their end.
Final note - I think bouncing is NOT the most efficient in this case. Shrine is so close, just die. use the bouncing skill slots for more useful farming skills. SF has a long recharge no matter what you do (death or bounce). So just die, and while you run down, your SF will be recharged in time for use at the cave entrance.
Results of doing this for about 3 hours:
Typical run was 20+ nestlings + Broodmother dead.
q10 ele sword, q12 ele sword, 10 sin tomes, +30 shield handle, +45 stand handle, 3 q9 greater sage blades, 2 q9 split chakrams (1 was perfect), 2 salvaged 15^50 insc, +10 vs earth, cold, blunt inscriptions, +1/20% master of my domain, 3 lock picks, 2 q9 Great Conchs, 1 q9 savage daggers. 4 Claws of Broodmother. Multiple other merch food items (some of the stuff I listed SHOULD have been merch food, just giving you an idea, in the future i won't salvage some of the +10 armor mods, probably just merch them on the original item). 100k in 3 hours time was decent use of my time.
I'm not the biggest power-farmer, but this was just plain fun (at first anyhow). It was a nice break from 600/smite cathedral runs.
TY TY to the initial poster for this. Very nice, very efficient run. Like others have said before me - try to NOT kill them all at once. This is why I use sliver armor. It strings out the kills 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 dead in about 5 seconds. It's lovely. Good farming to you all.

I've ran this for 6 hours over the past 2 days and still no ele sword.
However, I got at least 20-30 gold drops (about 5 req 9s) and other merchant junk. I also lucked out and got a req9 Saurian Scythe from a chest in the area (not in the cave). 8 assasin tomes, 5 blue dyes, 4 silver dyes, Tons of Bones and about 5 lock picks yesterday.
ps: its a shame that the Greater Sage Blades dont sell for more. The skin is pretty nice if ya ask me. I have 2 req 9s. I think ill keep one and sell the other, but probably wont get much for it.

My opinion:
This farm has single-handedly killed the value of ele swords (of course). It sure was a rush seeing my ele swords drop though (been waiting for months to see that). So nice.
Anyone who buys a q12+ ele sword "clean" for more than 5k is only kidding themselves.
I sold my q12 for 40k, and my q10 for 40k. First was luck, second was kind of luck also. The only reason people pay this much is because they don't know about the real market yet. They "THINK" they are getting a 40k sword. I always act very nice, I want the purchaser to enjoy their item and not feel cheated later. I always say stuff like - "Nice doing business with you. That's a great sword you've purchased, really beautiful skin. Enjoy." Hopefully that will help them feel ok about it later. If this area isn't nerfed, I give ele swords about... 1 more month of value. Then, the market will be saturated and supply > demand, and the price will bottom out. It'll never be merch food (it's a nice looking skin), but the price will be hurt badly. And then this farm will die. It can't hold up to the standard ecto farm over the longterm. (There is no "sink" for ele swords).
This farm will also single-handedly kill the mod prices. It drops a TON of perfect mods. +30 shields, +10 armor, 15^50 inscriptions, +5e inscriptions, 20% longer ench, Zealous, etc. No sink for these items either. Especially now that there are perfect salvage kits.
Broodmother daggers sell quickly at starter island for Factions. (Merch Tip). Couldn't sell them anywhere else in fact. I usually merch for 1k, if the person looks new I may give for free. WAY to many of these in game to have any value. (And they have sucky mod - poison).
On a different note, I usually sell Q9 or Q12 for more than I sell Q10 and Q11 :-).
there's something psychological about the requirement breakpoints. People think in their mind - I want a q9 or a Q12/13. Nobody really cares about the middle ground. I buy a LOT of super cheap q10 and q11 for personal use.

I was doing some tests to try and break away from the whole VwK builds and went back to the root of Warrior farming and made this:
Dwarven Stability, Gladiator's Defence, Vial Boon, Mystic Regeneration, Dolyak Signet, Bonnetti's Defense, Sprint, Enraging Charge.
HAve to admit it didn't work out as planned, and only got a few successful runs out of it (they run away far too much)

Mate, i've started this farm maybe 10 days before it was posted on guru. Dunno how many gold greater sage blades i got since then, but probably about 100. Forget about selling them, 1-2k for req 9 if you are lucky.

The W/Rt build works really fast, maybe that the problem, maybe we need to come up with a build that kills one foe at a time, fast. On a warrior this might be hard.
Anyway, I might try to come up with some other builds, just for fun mostly.

Yes they drop in normal mode as well. Max damage from the nearby chest, or non-max from the nestlings.

4 out of 5 chests that I opened in the surrounding area last night were purple drops. The one gold I got was a Cesta death wand. I lost 2 lock picks in the process. I was not a happy farmer.

errrrr, I thought it was a lvl 20 characters thats beat at least one of the campaigns. If you haven't beat any of the campaigns with any of your characters, I dont think you can access hard mode in GWEN yet. Come to think of it, I deleted all my characters about a year ago and started over, so none of my new characters beat prophecies, and I only bothered to get my warrior to fire island to cap an elite. I noticed that none of my characters could access hard mode in GWEN until I beat prophecies with at least one character, which I did last week with my warrior, which just happens to be the only tyrian born character I have.
Back on topic. I forgot to mention, but I did get a black dye last night I'm running the surrounding area trying to find other farming spots like this. Im wondering if this is the only spot that has nestlings. Maybe there are other spots with baby dinosaurs that aren't raptors?

Tried near enough the same build before using VwK instead, except as W/Mo so you can imagine what it was like, you can take on 1 group at a time alright, pretty slow.

A/E or E/A are definately faster.
I kill all 3 groups under 1 minute ideally. I get 8-12 golds per half hour...my IDing character will have level 3 wisdom in no time.
