I'd just run a blood guy with Rend Enchantments. Life Transfer is actually fairly solid 1v1.

Alright so 1v1 is probably the most futile exercise available to a Guild Wars player. It's stone paper scissors no matter what you do. People bringing lame trash like Obsidian Flesh, Shadow Form etc to a 1v1 only further illustrates this point.

That said beating a "Fire Ele" should normally be a walk in the park with a necromancer.

Blood Drinker - Angorodon's Gaze - Vampiric Gaze - Strip Enchantment

^ That should alone could be enough without using a secondary.

If you want to make it deadly easy, remember that most popular fire ele skills have atrocious casting time. Just max out a secondary, like Illusion.

Frustration - Arcane Conundrum - <Interrupt>

Expunge Enchantments - Disrupting Dagger versus Obsidian Flesh or Shadow Form

Bring any elite you feel like.

Add Soul Leech, Rend Enchantments and Hex Breaker to that and you have the build I use to counter the typical Mind Blast + Mystic Regen E/D build in Hero Battles.

I'm going to assume that:
(1) Your intelligence on his build is accurate (You have considered the possibility that he's trying to trick you about what he'll be using, right?), and
(2) You want a "pure" necro solution.

So, let's look at his build and how we can beat it:

(1) He's got dual attunements.
We can strip these with Gaze of Contempt and/or Rend Enchantments, forcing him to spend time and energy to replace them.
We can punish him for replacing them with Mark of Subversion.
We can punish him for having them up with Desecrate and/or Defile Enchantments.

(2) He's going going to light you on fire.
Light him on fire (and put yourself out) using Plague Touch.

(3) He's going to use a DoTAoE (SH) and a projectile (fireball).
Dodge them.

(4) He's going to rely on casting for most of his damage.
Punish him for casting while healing yourself with Soul Leech.

(5) His DPS is better than yours.
Sad but true, a necro can't keep up with an ele DPS-wise without minions or adjacent targets. So, you're going to have to use life steal.
Life Siphon is a great fire-and-forget option.
If you think he's smart enough to stop casting under Soul Leech and start wanding you, Blood of the Aggressor could pay off big time.
Since you'll be on fire, Angorodon's Gaze should work great (or you can proc it yourself with blood drinker).
Vampiric Gaze is also decent.
Finally, you could forego Soul Leech and use Life Xfer.

Not that any of them are particularily attractive but I'd actually prefer Soul Leech versus Life Transfer. At least Soul Leech doesn't have a thirty seconds recharge, and can be kept up more than half the time. If he doesn't cast for more than half the time, I say that's a pretty decent use of an elite slot.

How can you guys not know the correct thing to own a Fire nuker in a 1v1. Let me break it down for you.

The Ranger class is the best choice for this duel because:

- The ranger has +30 armor against elemental damage
- The ranger has interrupts to further mitigate damage
- The ranger can deal a decent amount of damage with Burning arrow OR Sloth Hunters shot OR Screaming Shot

OK, i know its not a necro but its the closest thing that a ranger can offer (let the flaming begin)

OK, i know you aren't usually supposed to use a bow and D-shot in a touchie bar, but against a fire ele that might have echo metoer shower, just use a bow and D-shot his Meteor shower and he will die before you even get close to running out of energy. If you are decent at weapon swapping, you can bring a bow in a second swap for D-shot and still use a staff if you want.

don't think you would need anything else, but that leaves u 6 free slots to do whatever they hell u want. 4 bars of regen to power spinal, just all the adrenaline for some sword attacks and thats it.
