Purifying Veil
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Purifying_Veil
(Can't use skill icons for EotN skills)
Wanted to discuss this skill in comparison to other condition removal skills.
This skill can be used to "preveil" against conditions. If you know you are going to suffer from conditions, just preveil yourself (or others) then remove it when one pops up. This tactic is particularly useful against dazed.
It can also be used to lower the condition duration on a character (5-41% faster expiration). Coupled with Recovery, you can drastically lower the duration of conditions on the party (doesn't sound too practical, though).
The skill, however, pales in comparison to powerful condition removal skills such as
[skill]Dismiss Condition[/skill], [skill]Mend Condition[/skill], and [skill]Mending Touch[/skill]
It lacks a heal, and also has a longer recharge (6 seconds compared to dismiss' 3, mend's 2, but equal with mending touch). It, however, does not remove 2 conditions like mending touch.
IMO, it should be buffed. Maybe decrease recharge to like, 4.
Discuss.

simple answer.... theres no real use for a maintained enchantment that makes conditions expire faster, when there is condi removal in the game that provides a much better way to deal with conditions.

It could be handy for dealing with daze in 4v4, but it's too situational to stick on an already crowded bar.

the Mo/D signet flag runner maintained that and Holy Veil on itself.
Don't see many of them around though...

It could be something to use if your are constantly under the effects of annoying conditions like burning and or poison. Though if I was using it as a monk I wouldn't keep it on for long periods of time. My experience with this skill is with my Ranger in Alliance Battles where condition spammers started to annoy me, I think a lot of non-monks might find this skill more useful instead.

In RA you can try a -20% dazed rune, offhand and purifying veil and your daze proof. Also if your facing a blind bot, you can maintian it on your warrior or sin.

Sadly not, tbh. Most daze conditions in pvp come with cover conditions to prevent removal. PVeil will only strip the cover. If it could pull off more than one and had a slightly longer recycle to cope with imba ness, it would be good. As it is, dismiss is a better self removal tool. 4v4=dismiss+block status and a little prayer.

well, at 14 spec it's a 47% shorter duration, add the 20% from shield, 20% from rune, you have yourself 87% shorter conditions!
Does it stack like this?

They multiply rather than add.
53% duration from Veil
80% from Shield
80% from Rune
0.53*0.8*0.8 = 0.3392 or ~34% duration.

Generally speaking, there is only one condition in the game you would preveil for, and it gets automatically covered by Apply Poison anyway.

If you coordinated with your physicals so they ran condition reductions like this to stack it significantly, there could possibly be use for the skill, but I don't really see it being used for "removal" like holy veil can do. It has a somewhat narrow role for a crowded monk bar (instead of removing the blind being spammed, just make it last like 2 seconds?), but...if the % reduction was bumped significantly or made a high flat rate, maybe we could see use on monk secondaries, like mending touch is used now? *shrug*
