you only need 14 in swordsmanship to get 5adren return from DS.
drop the sup swordsmanship rune, its -not- going to help you.

12 swordsmanship +1 from helm, +3 from superior rune
10 tactics + 1 from minor rune
8 strength +1 from minor rune
Make sure you have both 15 attribute point quests.
Like lazuli said, you don't really need the superior rune, a minor is fine and will make you harder to kill.

Warriors with weapon mastery below 14 fail at damage.
Btw, its 12+1 (from helmet) + 1 (from a minor rune)
I didn't realise it said 16, sorry, fixing that up now. The 75 health loss isn't worth the extra 2 attribute ranks.

I was confused for a little while because I was thinking, "what the hell do you use tactics for?" Then actually went and read the thread and saw that you've got a difference between "D-Slash Spam" Build and the "God-Mode" build. However, there is typo in the 'God-Mode' build: you've got the attributes from D-Slash, but with "Save Yourselves!" instead of "Watch Yourself!" those attribute points are wasted.
Granted you don't really need 12+1 in Strength, but you don't really have anywhere else to put them so why not load up? As an added bonus you get two extra adrenaline when you use Enraging Charge and FGJ! off that start.

Personally I like to run 15 Swordsmanship and 13Strength, though ive got Sup vigor and Viteal runes to balance it up.
There are many differnt Dslash builds, the basics are all the same just the side effects are differnt. Example Brawling Headbunt for constant knockdowns or Save Yourselves for total party protection. Drop swords to 14 and strength to 11 with the rest(10points) in channeling for splinter weapon and your a high DPS/AoE killing machine in PvE(yes having a rit in the party is better but not always an option). There is Pargons Endure Harmony builds and the Conjure Fire/Frost/Lightning as well as a few others.

Yeah, I know there are alot of differences. Some people like having a res on board or other stuff, but I'm specifically refering to the build posted in the sticked thread mentioned by the OP and Marty. In that build there's D-Slash, Steelfang Slash, Flail and Enraging Charge as the only skills with attributes you can put points into and those four skills are Swordsmanship and Strength respectively. The other four are Brawling Headbutt, "Save Yourselves!", "For Great Justice!" and Enduring Harmony all of which are PvE skills, unlinked, or a skill under a Primary Attribute of another profession. Bottom line is that there are no skills in that build that require tactics, but it's got 10+1 points into Tactics. That's a whole lot of points that can be put into Strength and a peice of armour that can be given a better rune.
Oh, and for personal preference, I like toss a Stonefist Insignia on one peice of armour to make the most out of Brawling Headbutt. Keeps annoying things on their behind for an extra second and makes it all the more likely that you can hit with Steelfang Slash.

Stonefist insignia is a requirement if you want to use steelfang. 2 second knockdown isn't enough time to get an auto attack and steelfang slash in while the foe is knocked down.

I am currently using Keht's Aegis (given by a friend), so I still need to sink in 9 tactics to get the maximum usage out of it. Are there +strength shields that give max AL and give +30 hp?

Why wouldn't there be? All you have to do is search wiki to find plenty of them (though the inscription bonus and/or look of the shield might not be the one you'd want).

Gogo Reefclaw's refuge.
16 AL, 20% chance of +1 Strength when using skills, +30 HP
And easily farmed using a riposte warrior.

+30 hp, -2 (stance): Destructive Shield, Strongroot's Shelter, Victo's Bulwark
+30 hp, -5 (20%): Droknar's Shield, Exalted Aegis (Strength), Mallyx's Courage
any of these would be fine. Strength req, good stats, etc. Drok's, Exalted Aegis & Victo's are all fairly common.

I wasn't complaining, just pointing something out. It's a very good guide and in anything that large, there's bound to be a few small mistakes.
One of which maybe the use of "FGJ!" and Enraging Charge. If you go Enduring->FGJ->Enraging you lose a few seconds getting to your target...unless you're using Enduring while you're already in combat, which I don't think is a very good idea. So if you go Enduring->Enraging->FGJ (just before you take your first swing) you get a few seconds extra out of FGJ.

Finding a good shield is easy, finding the skin you want with the req you want is the really hard part.
I still wish they would make the Tall Shield with a Str req...
