Spirit Light Weapon {E}
I recently capped [skill]Spirit Light Weapon[/skill] and although its not the greatest of all skills, i thought it was worth taking along on some pve quests/missions. PVE speaking, whats so bad about this skill? I normally have [skill]Life[/skill] or [skill]Recuperation[/skill] up all the time, so my target gets the bonus. Just in particular is there something im not seeing with this skill? 26 hp per sec (with bonus)....I run a healing/channeling build, and I would really like to get my hands on [skill]Weapon of Remedy[/skill], but for the time being this isnt so bad...how come no one uses it in PVE?

Because it sucks.
Healing over time is always worse than healing now. To make things worse, SLW doesn't heal for much more than spirit light even it it never overheals and hits the conditional every time.

It's not terrible for Normal Mode. With Hard Mode, though, SLW can't heal a papercut, and it's no help whatsoever against a spike. Similarly, you'll be using it a lot on Warriors and Dervishes, who frequently run outside the range, limiting its effectiveness.
Since you can only have one weapon spell, many people skim over SLW in favor of more beneficial weapon spells like Great Dwarf Weapon and Splinter Weapon. Ritualists have plenty of healing skills, I feel that it's more beneficial to just run another Red-Bars-Go-Up skill and forget about heal-over-time spells like SLW.
If it's one of your first elites though, you could certainly do worse.

Yeah thats what I was thinking...its not bad for one of the first ones. I agree above with Strangelove as NOW > OVER TIME. Thanks for the input.

I've used it in NM, and it was okay. It sucks in HM though.
Also, when you cap WoR, use it. It's awesome.

[card]Spirit Light Weapon[/card] is mostly used for healing degen, similar to [card]Recuperation[/card]. But then again, why not just heal degen with a spike heal? Take a better weapon spell. There are many out there.

SLW combined with Wielder's Boon is a nice spike heal, but WoR does out do it so much more that unconditional damage has killed a lot of things surprisingly.

[skill=text]Weapon of Warding[/skill]is better IMHO, 50% block last just as long at 14 res and no spirit needed, although it costs more.

It's sexy though....
Unstrippable block = yes please!
I think it's quite nice on my Sabway healer, though.
