I am wondering why triple chop is the first or second best elite in the game (only rivaled by dragon slash), but 100 blades, which hits the same amount of foes, is so completely less favored.

I agree that 100 blades is clearly inferior to triple chop because of lower damage, but it helps gain more adrenaline, and with conjure x, its damage is comparable to triple chop (at least i think so), assuming the triple chop bar doesnt have a conjure x.

i mean, with conjure x, shouldnt 100 blades be just as good as triple chop? am i missing something here?

First of all, Triple chop is not the second best elite in the game.

Hundred blades is only elite because it was exploited with Illusionary weaponry in beta.

Because if you're running Swords in PvE, then [skill=text]Dragon Slash[/skill] will generate more adrenaline than Hundred Blades and [wiki]Whirlwind Attack[/wiki] with the aforementioned Dragon Slash will put out more AoE damage when chained than Hundred Blades.

And Axes just have higher damage than Swords without comparing skills, so the only way Swords can rival Axes in PvE is if it can chain out skills that, together, put out more damage to rival the lower inherent damage of a Sword (AKA Dragon Slash). Hundred Blades doesn't allow you to do this.

Also why would you try to compare one skill with a completely unlinked +x damage buff to another weapon without one? Why can't Triple Chop be used with Conjure X? Granted, conjures are a complete waste of attributes, but comparing one skill with +14 or whatever damage inherently tacked onto it against another one is just stupid.

I'm pretty sure that Triple Chop isn't anywhere near the second best elite in the game...considering it is just a Cyclone Axe with more damage and a longer recharge...

Ignoring all the other reasons for Hundred Blades inferiority, if you have a sword, why aren't you using Dragon Slash? If you don't have Factions, why aren't you using Eviscerate? Adrenaline is nice but why do you need it? To power your fiercesome Sever + Gash combo that can be outdamaged by a Dismember for less adrenaline and the ability to use an Axe?

If you have to use a Sword Prophecies-Only Warrior, go ahead, but Triple Chop is better. It may just be a more powerful Cyclone but it's much more powerful and you can use both.

IMO Cyclone Axe is better than Hundred Blades. The way I see things, you get the same number of attacks off (CA is 4 sec recharge, HB is 8 sec), but Cyclone Axe is not elite and has bonus damage. The adrenaline gained can go towards something more useful, like Eviscerate.

I think the term you're looking for is used, not exploited. Using 2 skills together is not an exploit.

Triple Chop with conjure X will probably do more damage than 100B with the same conjure.

Here's the thing: there are better ways of doing damage and getting ade than 100 blades, which in practice is one of the weaker elites in the game. It's also rare to get enough targets to clump together in order to get that much of an ade gain anyways. Plus you have an ade cap, so useing 100B while everything is ready to go or one strike down is meaningless. To be honest, any of the other sword elites are probably a better option than 100B.

And to expand on what Ark was saying, the bonus damage of triple chop ignores armor, which is a large practicle advantage.

sorry. Anet was pretty quick to nerf it though. Just like the Healing Hands + mending warriors.

Welcome to the PvE Discussion forum. We're talking about warriors and skills. Unless you're suggesting a Crippling Shot Warrior I think you're confused. Dragon Slash allows you to not only maintain "Save Yourselves!" on your entire party making you virtually invincible, but also to keep someone permanently knocked down.
