Not moot. Frenzy is 'cheaper' for my Hero Monk than AR. If it makes life easier, I can't see why it wouldn't be valid - and it sure is less cumbersome than AR.

I have been running just the “there on fire” and the sunspear skill on my paragon, and have notice my monks need only minor healing to keep up. Unless it is a dragged out battle there has been no issue. I do not have Save Yourselves yet and I will try it once I can get it. But the above skills are amazing by themselves. If you are willing to change away from the SY you should try a Para/Beastmaster

Or run AR and make it cheaper?
If you want to dodge the Cracked Armour take Purifying Finale - oh yeah, Cracked Armour is cheaper than Protective Spirit. Frenzy will make him spend more energy than AR.
Don't get me wrong - Frenzy is a great skill, but not in the same league as AR on a paragon.
For greatest adrenaline booster - FA + FGJ for downtime is win. In combination with AR and SY, its double win.

Then break it down to lazyness. I thought AR was cumbersome in its old incarnation, I hate self-inflicted conditions (potentially covering other, enemy-induced condi's) and at least Frenzy gives a measure of control over when and where such risks should be taken. Perma-CA offers no such freedom.

Calling him bad would be a more reasonable conclusion.

Not using SY by no means makes someone bad. Paragon heroes do not have access to PvE only skills and they're a huge asset to any team I play in. I know I wasn't using SY all the time until hard mode was introduced to GW:EN; it just wasn't needed.
However if he is using SY with Life Bond it's a little redundant.

/sigh
I just posted a random skill hench monks don't use.
But now that I think about it, why not? Half of less damage = easier to contain. Only downside would be the size of the party.
EDIT: drifting off-topic aren't I?

You said yourself you are using the monk heroes, but if they're just doing what the henchmen can do why are you using them?
Also Life Bond is completely outclassed by Enfeebling Blood or "You Are All Weaklings!", and to a lesser extent any party wide 50% block skill (Defensive Anthem, Aegis, Ward Melee).

With how little traffic the paragon section gets, meh.

My paragon and all my hero paragons always has AR on their bar. And I have not notice any problem with the hench energy yet tbh, even if they use dismiss on recharge. Even on heroes too, when I play with another friend otherwise hench monks are pretty great, their energy is fine unless you don't give them a condition removal and just Blessed Light or something.
Or like Racthoh said, just don't give your heroes monk condition removal, cracked armor on a paragon is no big deal really. And just run Song of Purification if you expect a heavy conditions area. AR is just too good to take out of any paragon bar.
Best adrenaline building skills in the paragon skills line are FA for single paragon and Anthem of Fury if you run a group of adrenaline spikers.
