Hard on energy, but if you know how and when to cast it, a great secondary skill to use on a pet is Balthazar's Aura. PvE has monsters run away from it, but the pet will chase them. With Call of Haste, the pet will be faster unless its HM, and even then, it will be as fast. Same holds in PvP. Either the target will flee, or they stand and take damage. Consider a build I run in AB at times, and do quite well with:
[skill]Enraged Lunge[/skill][skill]Maiming Strike[/skill][skill]Call of Haste[/skill][skill]Charm Animal[/skill][skill]Comfort Animal[/skill][skill]Balthazar's Aura[/skill][skill]Disrupting Lunge[/skill][skill]Predator's Pounce[/skill]
No self heal, and no defense, so you need to know your battle field. I use a Smiting Staff, not a bow for this build, and invest enough points into Smiting to meet the requirement for the staff. The damage from the staff isn't important though, but the energy, and enchantment duration is. For PvE, I'd switch Call of Haste with Never Rampage Alone.... but that has some more energy problems.
