Splinter Barrage rit Primary?
Hello.
Could anyone tell me if the splinter barrage concept is viable with a ritualist primary? The reason being that, as far as I can tell, almost all the damage from the build comes from channeling, and sometimes, especially in hard mode, you need all the damage you could squeeze out.
16 channeling magic could do this, maybe?
Also, is this build usable in all of PvE, and is the damage really that great?
Basically Im asking, should I spend my money to give my Ritualist the abilities to do this build, or am I crazy-go-nuts?

downside i see is that with no expertise barrage costs 5 energy every time.

You don't even need any Marksmanship.
You can just run the standard hybrid Channel/Resto you see here and run Barrage in the elite slot, to nuke like crazy.

yup, it works
don't use too many ranger skills tho. Barrage and probably d-shot is enough

Personally, I run Splinter, Spirit's Strength and Volley sometimes for fun....
You can also just use a normal hybrid build with volley in there, so you dont' waste your elite slot.

It works great but... you need E-management
I always drop a spirit and use [skill]essence strike[/skill] and a zealous bow.
Edit (since its maxed out) [skill]bloodsong[/skill] Is my spirit of choice

Skills like Air of Superiority can also help out with E-management.
Also, make good use of weapon-swapping; it sometimes helps to swap back to a Channeling staff to nuke a little and get that extra pip of energy back in-between fights. Sometimes the mobs just aren't clustered well; no sense Barraging into nothing.
But yes, Rt/R is most certainly viable. You shouldn't be spending too much on the build; 1k for the Cap Sig is the minimum, you don't particularly need a Zealous string or any other bow skills if you don't want to put that much effort into it. It's a nice skillset to have, though, I've had it requested of me a few times in dungeons.

I'd go with TGold.
Volley > Barrage
SS = more damage output
