PvP Air Build?
Hey all, Im fairly new to the game, played Wow for about 3 years and was a pretty experienced Pvper there, but I needed a change of pace, so a friend introduced me to GW, and Ive been enjoying it this last few weeks.
Ive been trying to find a pvp build to suit my ele, and Ive been testing a Dual Attune Air build most recently.
Just wondering what you guys think about it, any possible fixes?
[skill]Lightning Hammer[/skill][skill]Lightning Orb[/skill][skill]blinding flash[/skill][skill]Ward Against Melee[/skill][skill]elemental attunement[/skill][skill]air attunement[/skill][skill]aura of restoration[/skill][skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill]
I have Proph and Factions currently, but probably will grab NF within a week, so builds with NF skills would be interesting to see too.
Thanks for the help.

When you get NF, [skill]Blinding Surge[/skill] and [skill]Glyph of Lesser Energy[/skill], consider stuff like [skill]Weapon of Warding[/skill] or [skill]Gale[/skill].
Where are you using this? RA? AB? TA? HA? GvG?

TA mostly atm, some RA and AB too though.
I could use all of those skills you just posted besides the elite right now.. any suggestion as to what I could replace something from my build for one of those?

The build you have, not to be rude, is not the best. It has bonuses and probably could get the job done, but I do think there are better builds out there. For example this is a build that my guild ran for some GvGs
[template]OghkgwJJTGODguc4NiFwCkR44iB[/template]
This doesn't look the best on its own but coupled with some other of the same sort, give or take a few skills, it really did it's job.
I believe, to an extent, it is up to the person who is running it (how comfortable they are running it or how much experience they have running it) to determine how well it does.
There have been plenty of games where people have come in with weird, strange builds but some how in the end they worked out. I've been playing this game since it's release and (I know this is a little sad) I've had quite a bit of success with Randomway in HA (A 8vs8 PvP tournament thing). It's funny cause a lot of those teams had "crappy builds" but the people who ran then knew how to run them. So we did well.
Also having NF helps, it had a lot of good and useful skills.
In the end you can go to sites such as PvXwiki to find the "Flavor of the Month" builds and ya those will usually work, but every once n a while it's good to have your own build.
Not a horrible build, not the best.

Just wait till you get Nightfall.
BSurge owns the crap out of stuff when it comes to being an Air ele, it's not as fragile as dual-attunes.
[skill]blinding surge[/skill]
[skill]lightning orb[/skill] or [skill]lightning bolt[/skill] - a DD to help kill shit.
[skill]gale[/skill]
[skill]glyph of lesser energy[/skill]
[skill]enervating charge[/skill]... or something, can't remember right now ([skill]draw conditions[/skill], even?)
[skill]ward against melee[/skill]
[skill]air attunement[/skill]
[skill]resurrection signet[/skill]
or something like that. The only other elite I'd consider is [skill]mind shock[/skill] for Arenas... the exhaustion won't hurt so bad in short battles and it stings like a bitch.
A totally different tactic you can try, which does work, is to use [skill=text]mind blast[/skill] to power [skill=text]blinding flash[/skill] alongside strong Fire DDs like [skill=text]rodgort's invocation[/skill]. A far more aggresive character, deals more damage at the expense of less defense/utility, and can still blind shit.

Blackrose: To post your suggested build/fixes you can link skills using this template:
[skill]Insert Skill Here [/skill] (Edit: just quote a message with a linked skill and you can see the template, Cant really show it this way.)
And yeah I agree, Im sure with experience Ill be able to test around with more experimental builds, but for my limited knowledge/experience I find it best to cookie-cut for now
Thanks for the mention of PvXwiki, looks like reading over that will be helpful.

Those 2 build suggestions look really nice, Alex.
Definetly will give them a go when I get Nightfall.
Any suggestions for improving my current build though?

Not really, tbh. You're doing all you can with dual-attunes - blindspam with some damage and support on the side.
Maybe, just maybe, drop Orb or Hammer for Enervating Charge or Gale - sacrificing damage for more hate skills can be a wise move.

Duly Noted. I will try dropping Orb for Enervating.
