Norn Fighting Tournament
Ok so this might be impossible as there are many enemies from all classes, but would anyone know of a Necromancer/anything build that will improve my chances of beating all 6 opponents.
I've tried several SS combinations, i own most of the elites so i can try pretty much any idea you guys throw at me.
But i realise the opponents are random and i might just have to keep trying till i get lucky, Thanks.

I find this easy until I get to the last boss, Magni the bison. Ive tried about 100 times, so it's cost me a fortune, having to pay 100g each time I enter the tournament.
Ive read the wiki and followed the builds to beat him, but I still lose every time. I really want that damned bison cup

I havent made it to Magni yet
But wouldnt a bit of SS/SV and possibly some IP then heal yourself with some necrosis on the side? She uses hammer skills so i figure that might take her down..

N/P
14 Death (I dont used superiors any more unless MMing)
10 Spear (Spear is req 10)
8 Curses (or whatever you get from the remainder)
1 [skill]Barbed Spear[/skill]
2 [skill]Slayers Spear[/skill]
3 [skill]Virulence[/skill]
4 [skill]Necrosis[/skill]
5 [skill]Vile Miasma[/skill]
6 [skill]You Move Like a Dwarf[/skill]
7 [skill]Rend Enchantments[/skill]
8 [skill]Finish Him[/skill]
- There isnt any need for healing skills since my opponents are dead long before I take alot of damage. It also helps having 610 health. However this health amount means you can only user slayers spear on Bison. (More on that below.)
- When fighting Mhenlo, Alesia, and other regen users, apply all your degen first. Then strip their enchants. When they try to use HB or Mystic Regen. Hit them with YMlaD.
- Be sure to interupt Melonni's Avatar.
- When fighting Bison, its all about skill timing. First and for most do NOT let him hit you (aka run away from him). When fight starts hit him with Slayers and Vile Miasma. He will immediately use the purge signet after going bear. When he tries to purge, interupt with YMlaD then put on Virulence. Since YMlaD recharges in 10 and Purge recharges in 20, you can always interupt his signet and keep him degening if you time it right. Cast Necrosis as you can but remember to him not let him hit you. Reapply Virulence and VM as necessary. Remember to conserve your energy so you can interupt his purge signet. Once he is around 30-40% health hit "Finish Him" and the fight should be over. If not, hit him with another necrosis or two.

Soul Reaping=9+1

[skill]Spiteful Spirit[/skill][skill]Insidious Parasite[/skill][skill]Parasitic Bond[/skill][skill]Enfeebling Touch[/skill][skill]Necrosis[/skill][skill]Shelter[/skill][skill]Vampirism[/skill][skill]Signet of Lost Souls[/skill]
*This build uses skills from all three campaigns, including Sunspear skills. My Sunspear title is at level 9. - Summon Shelter as soon as possible before the fighting starts.
- Run into the arena and summon Vampirism.
- Apply Insidious Parasite -> Spiteful Spirit -> Enfeebling Touch -> Parasitic Bond to the target. Parasitic Bond isn't entirely necessary, but is an emergency heal if the opponent isn't defeated quickly.
- Spam Necrosis (and Enfeebling Touch) until the target is dead.
- Use Signet of Lost Souls only if necessary for healing and to regain energy.
Special Notes: - Cyn uses AoE damage, so move away from the Vampirism spirit so not both of you take damage.
- For Danika and her pets, I put Spiteful Spirit on her first, then Insidious Parasite on one of her pets and spammed damage on it until it was dead, then when skills were recharged, repeated the same entire strategy for the second pet, then focussed on Danika when she was left alone.
- Magni uses Purge Signet, so after the Vampirism spirit is up, cast Parasitic Bond first so he wastes his signet, then proceed with step 3 above. You will most likely need to use Signet of Lost Souls before he is dead. Make sure to have at least 15 energy in reserve to quickly re-apply Insidious Parasite if he re-uses Purge Signet before he is defeated.

Cast Union and Displacement in the waiting area, step up to the line but don't cross it or your enemy comes running. Cast Pain, Wanderlust, Bloodsong, Anguish, Shadowsong (notice those that live longer get cast first), then cross the line, have your enemy come running, cast Painful Bond ... and on to the next level.
I usually placed my entire bunch in the right corner of the doorway, basically right on the front line of the entrance door, it seems to avoid a blind spot. One exception is Razah, if you get him, sprint out, cast Anguish within his range, hex him with Painful Bond and move out of his range.
If you get the heavy ele hitters, step away from your spirits or they get AoEed. I just hexed and kept moving from the left to the right wall and back.
Shadowsong is reasonably important for Bison Man, and in his case, I kept recasting spirits, just in case, plus obviously rehexing.
Last but not least, it's 12/12 Channeling/Communing, so any /Ri will do. Weapon sets are your friend, being able to switch to +15/-1 and back helps.

I used his Necromancer/Mesmer/Norn/Ebon Vanguard combo. Echoed Assassins killed almost everything in seconds. Grenths Balance is godly against Magni.

I just completed the Norn Tournament in a cakewalk as a Warrior with a variant of Dralspire's build -
Profession: any/Rt
Attributes: 12 Communing, 12 Channeling
[skill]Painful Bond[/skill][skill]Bloodsong[/skill][skill]Pain[/skill][skill]Anguish[/skill]
Template: OQgjAyhjITGlVT+glTfTdiRb0gA
Anguish may be swapped out for [skill=text]Dissonance[/skill] for interrupts. I went for straight damage and had no problems.
Equipment: Given i did it with a Warrior and you need a bucketload of energy, Radiant Insignia on Armor, +20 energy staff (Alem's Remedy) and +15/-1 Ritualist Cane & + 27/-1 Communing Focus. Equip the Heart of the Norn title for a small health boost.
Usage: Using the +20 staff drop all spirits in order between the doors of the arena. On a W/Rt i had 50 energy and can just manage the full spirit drop. Swap to the +42/-2 set and run to the centre of the arena. Use Summon Spirits, cast Painful Bond, cast Ursan's Blessing and attack. The battle should be over within 5 seconds, maybe 10 secs against Magni.
The reason i use Summon Spirits is in case you come up against another Ritualist. If you drop your spirits in the doorway, and they do the same on the other side of the arena, you've lost the advantage and the fight is as good as done because your spirits are out of range.
Ursan's is on the bar in case your spirits get taken out in an AoE attack and you need to do the work yourself. This happened on a few occasions on the way to beating the tourney 5 times to get the crown. While it doesn't happen often, Ursan is still on my bar permanently for the tournament.

Why do I get the feeling I've answered this exact questions before?
X/Rt can win the tournament with Painful Bond, Summon Spirits, Vampirism, Pain, Bloodsong, Shadowsong, Anguish, and Wanderlust.
N/Mo can win the tournament with a 55/SV build.
There you go.

I'm more inclined to tell Necros to use 55/SV because it is at least a viable and useful build for the class. They learn something by running it, compared to X/Rt which teaches nothing and isn't useful anywhere else.
I wish Moloch would add 55/SV to his guide (regarding the Norn Tourny), with the caveat that it's a more advanced build. But...it's a necro build, at least.

as a necro and a noob, I tried many different versions of ss build but just not fast or powerful enough to kill all.so I ended up use Rt skills, but only 4.
shdowsong
union
pain
painful bond
I also got myself a ebon vangurd Assassin Support. to distract so you can cast- spiteful spirit and whatever else you want. I use necrosis and faintheartedness. I finally finished all and asked myself how that happen. I have not try the tournament again. So maybe I was just lucky.

Well, my problem with adding it to the guide is that it's a subpar build for the tournament.
A more "advanced" build should perform better than the "common" build if you know how to use it. But it doesn't, /Rt spam is the way to go.

the necro 55/SV build works very well in the tournament
regarding the fact that your opponents stay above 55hp until they're defeated
i've played the tournament as 55/SV and it works well
from Lo Sha to Magni The Bison it works
i've defeated mesmers, ele's, rangers, dervs, necro's
they all went down by good use of the 55/SV
only letdown i find is the energy regen after casting your enchants in the start
gotta wait a minute or so to regen my energy but for the rest there was no problem
for magni the bison i only need to use my regular enchants i keep up and PS and SV
that's all i really need for him

Yes, it works. However, it's far less reliant and far slower than the supposedly "noob" option. Only it's not a "noob" option at all, if you think about it.
Why waste time being cute instead of smart?
