It depends really... theres a lot of breakpoint in crit strikes. Some people don't use it for the energy gain, but for the skillbreakpoints. If they reach a new energy gain, thats just a fortunate side effect.

But, yes, if you do want a good build, it might be good to check the breakpoints for skills.

i wouldn't know off any crit strike skills i'd spec higher than what the energy breakpoints are at.

some builds like A/D where you spec 14 in crit strikes are ofc totally different.

I have done it before just because I wasn't paying attention but anything more then 13 crit strikes is redundant really.

Never used Dark Apostasy on an Assassin then have you? Critical Strikes 14 + Zealous mod, to nullify the energy loss of 5 each time you achieve a Critical Hit.

Don't forget that it doesn't just affect your energy gain and Critical Hit rate but also your skills from the Critical Strikes line.

energy break points are at 3, 8, 13.. i run 13 cause i run DB/MS in pve.. and energy is veryyy important. pvp i run 13 just cause i like having energy so i can repeat my combo and not worry to much about being able to finish it or not.

Silly moko, you should know people on this forum don't actually read the attribute line descriptions. They just know that higher number = better.

Dervishs and Elementalists hate me! Not only do you interrupt the hell out of them but also strip any enchantments they have up too. Assassin with Critical Defenses? Soon get rid of that I think!

The only thing that makes a skill bad is the person using it.

Why go higher then 13? There is no point you lose 1 energy whoop de do your energy regen should cover that 1 energy. And we all know Critical Strike+13 critical+Dark Apostasy=more energy gain then loss so yeah.

And at 14 crit dark apostasy gives -4 energy on crit nub.

Is there really any need to be so rude over someones opinion?

I know Critical Strikes at 14 reduces Dark Apostasy to -4, that's the whole point of it being at 14 when using Dark Apostasy, so you don't lose energy when using Zealous weaponry every time you critical, or if you're not using Zealous Weaponry you only lose 1 energy when you Critical at Critical Strikes 14 instead of losing 2 energy at 13 Critical Strikes.

Critical Strikes 13: Dark Apostasy -5 energy each critical. Zealous + 1 energy every Critical. Critical Strikes +3 energy each Critical = -1 Energy every Critical Hit

Critical Strikes 14: Dark Apostasy -4 energy each critical. Zealous + 1 energy every Critical. Critical Strikes +3 energy each Critical = 0 energy loss every Critical Hit.

To be honest you awnsered your own question as to why you have Critical Strikes at 14 when using Dark Apostasy, lol.

Depends on what build you run that Crit. Strikes can/will be crucial. Any skills that are CS-dependant: yea more CS pts is better. Otherwise, it's no big loss. I use @ least 10 +1 (11) for the majority of my builds and do perfectly fine with skills like Critical Agility, Crit. Def., Way of Perfection, etc... Oh, make sure you use Critical Eye for better results involving those skills I mentioned.

No big loss indeed. In the situation you describe, you might just as well have CS 8 - and more points in other attributes.

EDIT: FE, running CS 8 (or 7+1) + Crit Eye, DM 12+1+1 allows for 9 (or 9+1!!!) in another attribute... instead of the normal 3.
