Help with tanking build
I was messing around with pet builds last night and I had an idea for an interesting pet build. Epically since you can order pets to attack now.
R/Mo
Attributes
12 Protection prayers
12 + 3 + 1 BM
3 + 3 Expertise
Skills
???????
Comfort Animal
Otyugh's Cry
Call of protection
Life Barrier [Elite]
Life bond
Essence Bond
Charm animal
Basically you throw as many damage reduction skills as possible on your pet and turn it into a super tank. It works pretty good on the minotaurs outside of Augury Rock. I don't think anyones going to be soloing the UW with this build, but its still an interesting idea. Anyone have any suggestions to improve it?

Possibly, but I think i just thought of a way for a ranger to solo the UW without traps.
A dire pet would be best for this but I guess any pet would do.
Same attributes as before
Skills
Predators Pounce
Protective Spirit
Comfort animal
Call of Protection
Life Bond
Essence Bond
Charm animal
Even with an elder pet the most damage your pet will take with protective Spirit is 48 damage. Half that from life bond and you get 24. Then add the reduction from call of protection and your down to 3 damage at most. Your pet could in theory take on several bladed Aataxes. Theres still a spot for an elite. Any suggestions?

Doesnt look like the pet can kill them at a decent rate. Might take like 2-3 minutes for a single one.

Personally, I do not know how anyone can create a beastMaster build without using Heal_As_One.
People may very well consider things like Ferocious Strike (an awesome skill, for sure) as the better Elite. I am not disagreeing here. However, from a role-playing point of view I do not like to be cornered in a way where there is no possibility of solo.
Without Heal As One (IMO, the only effective skill for healing - other than that EotN which I do not have access to) I see no other option but to always take at least two monks when questing etc.
I just want EotN to get delivered so I can get my big white bear. But, I am very much enjoying my current build right now. I quite like Poison Arrow + Kindle Arrow(s) + Triple Shot.

I tried it last night against minotaurs in Desert and it can easily tank 5-6. I didnt use any of the elites suggested either, cuz i dont have any good ranger elites (cept barrage) . Only problem I can see is your health, so heal as one may be necessary. Gonna try and cap it tonight then maybe hit the UW.

So we have established that its not the best solo build, but it has some duo potential.

Well your pet tanks and someone else does damage. I thought that was pretty simple.
