Very cool essay, though I personaly prefer other builds for my heroes, but thats a matter of preference. Would just like to add that attacking monks first doesn't work in my book. From personal experience the enemy melee rapes my backline while my melee rapes theirs. When you are dealing with, say, margonite executioners I would always try to outdamage enemy monk healing and just rape the more dangerous tons first. On the other hand, SS necro's don't have anything to fear from melee at all, but not everyone runs those ofcourse.

I typically target the healer first like zinger said, but I ussually hit the melee with blind or crippling. Ussualy when the enemy gets hit with crippling they switch targets to something closer to them(me most of the time), if im running my monk i use prot skills like aegis which takes the pressure off as well. You just have to make sure your build fills in the gaps left by your hero/henchies.

We need more players like this.
And not to forget Zinger, cookie for you! Thanks a lot for sharing. But.. are there always enough corpses around for 2 mm's? Don't forget you need 20 corpses for the full army. That'sa about 2-3 mobs before you can steamroll, is it survivable or..?

No, and in such an occasion, change for 2 Elementalits. That's what there for. Backup party configuration for some areas.

You don't really need two BoTM. Just tick it on the AoTL MM and use DN and maybe Virulence on the other. Since they seem to always be burning, why not make them always poisoned, diseased and weakened too? Stick in epidemic to spread the joy around. Mass weakness is good when you have a team of squishies
Works even better if you have deep wound or such around. Just take 'find their weakness' and GFTE or dismember. Or jagged on one MM to spread bleed all round. Not as good as it used to be, but you should have no trouble having 3-4 per MM and with epidemic you'll keep most mobs on permableed.
Still good builds and hopefully helpful in getting people to plan for teams, not just for each character.

I'd go with expel hexes or bip (7+1 blood).

I loathe Barrage dearly. That build does little damage unless the targets are grouped very, very, very close together, and that's not assured. Elsewhere, the build's damage is average, and much lower than 2 MMs.

I prefer barragers over SF for their disruption. Locking a barrager on an offensive caster pretty much shuts it down, while dealing damage at the same time. Overloading my build with disruption (2x dshot, 2x savage, 1-2x leech, 1x pdrain, potentially more) lets me skimp on defense. For most of NF, I run with 1 monk hench, warder henchie and HP if I'm not carrying leech sig.

Well if you do use barragers instead of sf the new rit splinter weapons can help any team own very nicely.

i Vanquished Old Ascalon, The Breach, and got Mission and Bonus, on Great Northern Wall, and Fort Ranik in HARD MODE last night using a variation of this...
I was playing my Monk, a HB full heal monk with dismiss condition, and deny hexes.
My heros were
Teh Gerneral
(Same build as Zinger posted)
SF Ele
(Took out Aura of Restoration, and put in Liquid Flame for more damage)
MM
(Took out Aura of The Lich and put in Virulence)
(Took out Power Drain and put in Desecrate Enchantments)
-You need this, because the Grawl Monks Cast SoJ and Healing Hands now
This build worked Very Well

With AI reflexes concussion shot works very well too, even with fast casting bosses. Another option is to bring a fire barrager and an SF w/ Mark of Rodgort.

Barrage sucks.
Anthem of Flame is kinda useless, "Their On Fire!" can be used to keep Aggressive Refrain up fine. Also swap Focused Anger with Defensive Anthem for more defense as your team is mostly casters. The extra adrenaline isn't really needed.
Dual MM was more fun when Jagged Bones was at 5-second recharge, meh.

Very nice zinger. Thanks for sharing yet another great post. I've been pretty much playing most of the hero builds you have posted thus far. In most areas I run the 2 SF ele, MM combo. Never really thought about double MM due to the BotM hinderance. I guess 28 is better than 18 if you can get it going, eh?

lol I tried using 2 MM's in Hard Mode and it was a riot. I tried to fight some plants in one of the Vabbian explorables and OMG the minions die almost as soon as they pop out of the ground. Anyone have some good hero builds for Hard Mode? And I don't mean the sissy areas that are early in the campaign. I'm looking for builds for areas in the middle of the game and on in Hard Mode.
I've tried various things and the best I could do was kill about 30 plants. Only conclusion I came to was that minions are ineffective in Hard Mode once you get out of the early parts of the campaign. I might actually try the Flesh Golem b/c at least it is high level and so might live more than a few seconds.

The SF eles work well in most areas where I tested them, and they helped me pass Gate of Pain x.x (Note: If you rush through NF just so you get access to DoA, make sure you have someone to help you. Getting past some of the missions with only Prophecies skills is stupidly hard)
Maybe I'm not familiar withthe terminology, but 20/20 means

Halves casting time of Death Magic spells (Chance: 20%)
Halves skill recharge of Death Magic spells (Chance: 20%)

right?
So where do I get a one-handed weapon that does that? The collectors on wiki don't seem to have one, and if it's a green, where do I get it from? There are offhands, ust not weapons. And I'd really like to go around and build a huge army of minions. I played a R/N MM build and two hero MM's in ascalon once, just for fun, and it was awesome seeing the radar full of green dots xD
So, anyone know where I can get a weapon (two, actually)? I'm sick of looking. I might just go farm Ghial's... but that takes too much time, since I need two.

They can be crafted at Vasburg Armory or Leviathan Pits in Factions.

I guess I'll have to make my way there, then. I really hate Factions, though.

Thanks for the builds Zinger. Using these builds (with minor variations) a friend and I henched Gate of Madness and Abaddon. Even got Master's on Abaddon
That AoTL/Virulence combo sounds interesting.

Gate of Madness? Abaddon's Gate? Those can be done even with a barrage party. Unless you're referring to hard mode?

Use cry of frustration on your ele's instead of one of the inspiration interrupts they have more than enough energy anyway.
