Hey Dean,
I totally understand your urge to add a yet missing introduction for mesmers and I respect your work here.
This being said I have to get some (harsh but hopefully helpful) critique of my chest:
Layout
Your current layout makes this guide very hard to read.
Including skill description in the text body is a bad idea as it screws over your layout and distracts the reader from the actual message of the paragraph.
Basics
Very basic and yet important information about the mesmer and skill decisions are missing:
- Role in a team,
- Equipment,
- Energy management options,
- Game environment (eg. positioning, visuals and sounds as predictor of opponents action),
- Communication in game and of builds,
- The enemy - information about how other people counter your profession.
A very, very, very good example of a guide here on guru is the thread:
Monking - skills and decisions in perspective A must read for every mesmer as well.
Mechanics
Your guide only enlightens interruption and shut down by quoting Shanaeri Rnynale and yet that one mixes pve and pvp without a distinctive line and is hardly readable through layout problems and off topic discussions.
Attributes
Here lies your main focus but your description and examples are biased and bury basic information beneath misleading examples (Meteor Shower). And I could argue on many parts of your descriptions as well.
Builds
Builds should rather be a small addition to a thread which promises to be a guide ... if you copy builds from
pvxwiki I suggest a link rather then rewriting them.
Also most of those builds are rather outdated or not suitable in the current meta.
Your suggestion for an HA Mesmer focusing on e-denial with a LoD monk in every team or N/Rt Soul reaping healers and the return of King of the Hill is *can't find the right words*
This is by no means worth a sticky without a major rollover.
Cheers,
Timebandit
