Steady Stance alternative?
I was looking into using fleeting stability as an alternative to steady stance:
[skill]Drunken Blow[/skill] [skill]Desperation Blow[/skill] [skill]"Watch Yourself!"[/skill] [skill]"Victory Is Mine!"[/skill] [skill]Fleeting Stability[/skill] [skill]Armor Of Sanctity[/skill] Res | Optional Slot
Tactics: 10
Scythe: 9+1
Earth: 10+1
Mysticism: rest, my use of runes / headpiece = 7+1+1
Weapon: Zealous scythe +20% enchants last longer
The advantage of using fleeting stability over steady stance is that not only does it free up your elite slot, it also provides you with a free slot for a stance, and can be kept up constantly so you can spam both attack skills on recharge. I added Victory Is Mine! for the heal + energy gain, there's a potential of giving the foe 4 conditions and if timed right, this skill can refill your energy bar completely. Armor Of Sanctity would be the obvious choice when dealing out conditions. Watch Yourself.. no reason not to take it with points in tactics.
Now, 1 major choice is the optional slot. As i said, using fleeting means you can add another stance. Conviction is pointless with WY!, and other than that there are no derv stances worth taking. Heart Of Fury isn't worth it with only 9 in mysticism. So i guess, as the build needs an ias, it's a choice between flail and flurry. Flurry denies the point of this build really, reduced damage ftl. Flail can be kept up indefinately when hitting 2-3 foes, but hitting only 1 you have around a 2 sec downtime inbetween uses.
The downsides of the build is that it has no condition removal, and no insta heal, such as mystic regen. You have to get going and stack the conditions in order to get the most out of the elite.
Any input is appreciated. I've gone over all the "staple" dervish skills, but none really seem to fit; skill suggestions, especially for the optional slot would also be good

Bull's Strike > "On Your Knees!" > Balanced Stance
tried it on a Derv with ViM, was hilarious.

However, using Fleeting defeats the object of SS, being that it fuels stuff like "Fear Me!".

I guess, but Fear Me! is kinda useless in pve. Also with fleeting you prevent any KD from foes too.. dredge heavy areas come to mind.. giant stop galore in GW:EN..

At 9+1 scythe and 10 tactics, you're better off just getting 14-16 scythe and no tactics with scythe attacks. You'll do more damage, and the only thing you lose is watch yourself, which can be carried by a warrior. No IAS makes this build sad too

if you do the version i listed you can get away with less Mysticism and pump more into Scythe. and oh please, Steady has no IAS either and still hurts a lot.
i'd just do
Drunken Blow
Desperating Blow
Victory is Mine!
Watch Yourself!
Balanced Stance
On Your Knees!
Bulls Strike
Rez
no real need for Mysticism, kd can surely be achieved very easily on PvE mobs, higher scythe, higher tactics -- the only disadvantage is the lack of damage reduction from Armor, but who cares about that, WY! is enough with monks anyways.
