I'm having a somewhat difficult time determining how certain prot enchantments interact with each other, mainly Shield of Absorption, Shielding Hands, RoF, and Prot Spirit.
Best I can tell, the order in which they were placed on a target determines which one triggers first. But there are still some idiosyncrasies that aren't quite so easily to define.....

1. If Shielding Hands is placed, followed immediately by SoA, I assume Shielding Hands reduces it's damage first, followed by SoA. But what happens when the target takes damage less than the amount Shielding Hands reduces (like a hit of 8 damage). Shielding Hands will obviously reduce that damage to 0, but will SoA count that as a "hit" and increase its damage reduction of the next hit to 10 even though it didn't do any damage reducing? Or will SoA's damage reduction stay put at 5 for the next hit.
If it does count that as a hit, then the order in which they are placed makes no difference. But if it doesn't count that as a hit, then it's much better to place SoA before Shielding Hands I would think.
I ask this question because my hero/henchie monk/s and/or I sometimes overlap these 2 skills.

2. What happens when you cast RoF on a target who already has SoA or Shielding Hands on them? Does RoF only reverse the damage that makes it though SoA/Shielding Hands (which might be 0 in SoA's case)? Or will it reverse the damage before the damage reduction from SoA/Shielding Hands is calculated?
If the former is true, then casting RoF on a target with SoA on them would be pretty pointless.
I ask this question because heroes/Lina sometimes like to cast RoF as a heal on targets already enchanted with SoA/Shielding Hands.

3. What happens when you cast SoA/Shielding Hands on a target who already has RoF on them? If RoF triggers and reduces the damage taken to 0 before any damage reduction from SoA/Shielding Hands, then the same question as #1 applies: does SoA count it as a "hit" and increase it's reduction of the next hit by 5 even though RoF reversed the entire hit?

4. When casting RoF/SoA/Shielding Hands on a target who already has Prot Spirit on them, I assume Prot Spirit will always reduce the damage to 10% max health before anything else is calculated. But what if Prot Spirit happens to be cast after RoF on the target with 500HP who then takes 100 damage (with RoF @ 11 prot). Will Prot Spirit still trigger first, reducing the damage to 50 before RoF reverses the rest (target takes 0 damage)? Or, since RoF was cast first, will RoF reverse 63 damage, leaving 37 damage which makes it though Prot Spirit (target takes 37 damage)?
I ask this question because if the latter is true, then I need to stop casting RoF --> PS on targets in trouble and instead cast PS --> RoF.

Sorry for the long, complicated post, but I'm having trouble finding conclusive answers to these 4 questions on the battlefield.
Any help would be appreciated.

1. SoA will still count a hit even if Shielding Hands reduces damage to 0.

2. RoF will heal for the damage taken after calculating SH/SoA. It's possible to get a zero heal from RoF.

3. SoA counts hits regardless of whether you take 100 or 0 damage.

4. Prot Spirit will trigger even when cast after RoF. PS will trigger before RoF, reducing the damage to 50 and RoF will reverse the rest resulting in 0 dmg (and a 50 HP heal).

there is a difference between [skill]Shield of absorption[/skill] and [skill]Shielding Hands[/skill] .
This is most notably when you use a 55 hp monk, Essence Bond will trigger on 0 dmg hits of SoA, but not on 0 dmg hits of SH. I don't know how this would answer your questions, but there is maybe a slight difference with those while asking the effect with RoF

So in this situation, with SoA absorbing all the damage and leaving none for RoF, will RoF just end or will it remain on the target until it reverses damage from future hits?

I'm very happy to hear that SoA counts everything as a hit regardless of damage, and that Prot Spirit always triggers first regardless of casting order. Very good news.

+0 heal. RoF will end.

doesn't matter how much damage, RoF will negate it and heal, even if there's nothing to negate.
