Question about Defiant Was Xinrae
In AB does this disable spells for all allies of the enemy caster or only his party members? The description says "allies" but isn't that overpowered? And last, does this have a range on how far allies/parymembers must be so they can be afected?
If this works on allies it would be very anoying for Sf eles,SP sins etc.

Yup, it disables it for their whole party. Problem is, the other team has to have numerous copies of that spell, and they have to use it on you. Xinrae's weapon would get past the latter half of that, but the recharge/energy cost are just too prohibitive.

By whole party do you mean all 3 teams?

Why is that a problem when almost every sin and ele use SF and SP. Not to mention those are the most popular proffesions in AB. Making them use it on me could be a problem but many times I run solo because my team is retarded.
The real problem is making a build with it considering the attribute is bad if I don't use it to spam spirits.

The Xinrae item skill applies to all 'allies'. The Weapon spell is worded differently but I doubt they have different behaviour in this regard. I have never tested this out so I really couldn't tell you if it blacked out a given spell all over the map.
Suffice to say I've never (ever) seen it, or heard of it happening before. Meaning that in terms of probability, it is highly unlikely that it functions like that. The game is too big, and AB too old for this to go by undocumented as it would be a pretty big deal.
Still I don't know for sure and it's certainly worth investigating at the very least.
Let's just hope Anet/Izzy improves the spells in communing enough for people to actually bother using these skills...

To be fair, have you ever seen anyone using the Xinrae skills?
