Lightning Ele?
I am trying to get a pure lightning ele build for prophecies, but the damage seems kinda low, and there doesn't seem to be any armor penetration when I use it. If anyone knows of any prophecies only skills, for an ele, can you give me a build, jsut for general use. Just to deal dmg, but have some good energy conservation. I just keep doing low dmg, and running low on energy as well.

You're running the wrong element if you're trying to deal damage.
Basically, Fire kills things.
Air spams blind.
Shameless self promotion here, but... summat like this kills shizzle, Proph-only

Anyho, Prophecies only...
[skill]elemental attunement[/skill][skill]fire attunement[/skill][skill]aura of restoration[/skill][skill]fireball[/skill][skill]rodgort's invocation[/skill][skill]arcane echo[/skill][skill]ward against melee[/skill][skill]resurrection signet[/skill]
12+1+1~3 Fire Magic
10+1 Earth Magic
8+1 Energy Storage
As much as I hate Aura, it's a given for Dual Attunes... you start to fail if your attunes go - you really need that cover enchantment.
Anyho, attune up, Arcane Echo on Invocation, throwing out Fireballs in between.

If you're looking for an Air Magic build,
[skill]elemental attunement[/skill][skill]air attunement[/skill][skill]lightning orb[/skill][skill]blinding flash[/skill] is a strong start.
To re-iterate, the only worthwhile thing Air does is Blind. Air builds that can't Blind are fail.

Well, some of the damaging spells are good in the air spell. Like envergrating charge. I think that is how it is spelt. But I like the armor penetration, and I like trying to find the most odd spells, for classes. Like I have a derv that does dmg with just using his enchant spells.

Air is mostly used to Blind and to spike in PvP, where it can do the most damage in one hit (with [skill]Lightning Orb[/skill]).
However, in PvE, where spiking is not necessary, it is more energy efficient to nuke with fire skills like [skill]Rodgort's Invocation[/skill].
So...it would be wise to go with fire, but I guess Stormlord Alex's start for air isn't bad.

Ah, cool thank you. I'll keep that in mind when I start making a build.
Maybe I'll go with a blinder/fire nuker build. Although I don't think that will work.

You can pull it off with Nightfall skills.
[skill]mind blast[/skill] + [skill]blinding flash[/skill]
[skill]immolate[/skill] + [skill]steam[/skill]
You could always use Eruption, proph only. The Blind on it is unlinked. [skill]eruption[/skill]

I do have night fall, but the thing is, is that I can not access certain areas, bc of my video card. It just craps out after I enter an area in Nf...
Also, two of the skills are core skills, so I can use those.

Unfortunately you really need [skill]Lightning Hammer[/skill] to make Air Magic worthwhile for damage.
You can still run [skill]Blinding Surge[/skill] and be a useful asset but don't plan on doing major damage without Lightning Hammer.

Lightning hammer is nice, but it just costs a lot of energy... Although it is high dmg. I could possibly make a build that spams lightning hammer, and use blinding surge.

since u dont have faction:
[skill]channeling[/skill][skill]arcane echo[/skill][skill]lightning orb[/skill][skill]blinding flash[/skill][skill]air attunement[/skill][skill]elemental attunement[/skill][skill]aura of restoration[/skill][skill]resurrection signet[/skill]
copy the lightning orb on arcane echo.... if u have faction replace channeling with [skill]lightning hammer[/skill] and copy it on arcane echo. spam lightning hammer and lightning orb for quick killing.

Better off using glyph of lesser energy than channeling, but orb spam I guess can do lots of damage to single targets...

Well, I do Pvp a lot. IT is fun t do that. Espicailly with a dazer. Lightning spikers probably do deal tons of dmg, but they run low fast.

when i first started PvP i had next to no elite skills but really wanted to run an air build, so i made use of what i had and put together a build using
[skill]Lightning Surge[/skill] [skill]Lightning Hammer[/skill] [skill]Lightning Strike[/skill]
which i used to spike around 300 with. Of course this wouldnt completely whipe out the opponent but it was good for things like RA, targeting people with lower health and the worst armour (eg. other eles, mesmers and necromancers).
I havent really tried any air magic in PvE although i've been wanting to run an a/e with [skill]Ride the Lightning[/skill] and [skill]Shock[/skill] although i have doubts this will work very well and an assassin could probably much more devistating with its own class elite. still, i like to experiment
its easy to manage your energy if you know how to. its easy as pie with attunements. seriously, if you dont have air attunement, get it, its one of the most useful skills for an air build. mesmers also have some pretty good skills for energy management so you might wanna check them out too
anyway good luck with your air magic.
if you dont have the skills.. get them.. its really not that hard. i capped elemental attunement when i was about 2 weeks new to the game and i'm very glad i did, not having NF i used it in almost all of my damaging builds.

I did use chain lightning, but I got a little bored of it, it does have a decnet recharge, but doesn't have a good enough of an aoe.
