New Update - splinter nerf
Splinter Weapon: functionality changed to: "For 20 second[s], target ally has a Splinter Weapon. Target ally's next 1..5 attacks deal 5..50 damage on up to 3 adjacent foes."
Can you believe this? It was one of the great spells ritualists had, it is still good, true, but it won't have that special place in our skillbar anymore!
My heart is broken!!

Nooooooooooooooo........ *cries* not the new paragon!
I was finally starting to enjoy the game on a whole new level, the possibilities, the ammount of damage that could actually compete with other classes.

Anet had better consider making PvP and PvE separate skills-wise.

Why fix what is not broken?
Terrible update. Just Terrible.
Woohoo, now what will they do?
Nerf AwS, and make all those few good rit skills in the trash.
Good job ANet, just great.

Other way around, iirc, Rits were good at party wide buffs for about a year, then nerfed to oblivion. Paragons already lost motivation, and will probably lose their other attributes too, so Paragons are the new rits, granted Para's have better ability at getting good constant DPS than rits did, way better, but thats beside the point.
I really wish they would bump up some utility of the channeling line along with nerfing one of the best skills in the game. Its what channeling has always lacked, utility, the only thing it had going for it was its absurd damage output with skills like ancestor's and splinter.

I'm glad something overpowered became balanced. That was something like reverting the Keystone update, this is overkill. But it's better than leaving it alone, it was over-powered.

A tone down was required. Splinter weapon is now just a very good spell instead of being plainly better than most elite skills in any profession, a tone down is required.
What was missing from the update was the corresponding buff to Ritualist Elite skills to make them not suck.

I don't know tht I can agree with that. Ele's do tons of AOE damage and nobody really complains. Maybe it's because I have a focus on Pve, but when a huge mob of undead are swarming my warr in Nightfall Desolation areas I want to be able to deal some damage quickly. I do agree that it puts it firmly in the good, but not great at all category.

Eles have great AoE damage true...but also longass recharges and Exhaustion.
Seriously, before the update, i would definitely choose a Channeling/Resto rit over a SF MS SH blah blah blah Ele.
*cough cough*
anyways. I'm sure all of you know that A-Net was just trying to fix what happened a VoD with the bunched up ranger NPCs.
Way i see it, it was either this "nerf" or changing to an Elite spell.
Not ALL Rit Elites suck.
Weapon of Remedy, Offering of Spirit, & Attuned was Songkai are excellent elites! Rits just don't have as many good elites as other professions.
Seriously, stop whining. The metagame will adapt and improve. Always has, always will.

alright, I will try not to be stubborn and see why Anet nerfed splinter weapon, it has some reason to it and it was alittle over-pwered, but...couldn't they at least buff up an "offensive" Channeling elite skill? I mean seriously they suck and not many people use them.

That...i agree with. Caretaker's Charge sucks. Should change the energy gain to 9 or something.
Destructive was Glaive is fun, but the losing Enchants part has the potential to be devastating.
Clamor of Souls....more than likely, one random opponent will be down. Lot of potential, but too unpredictable.
Alas...we're a quirky class, and making/improving elites for a profession that doesn't have a niche is difficult.

I do understand why you people say it was overpowered, but come on, how many good skills do we actually have? This was one that made up for all the other bad ones.
I sure don't like the WoW reference but i feel like this some times:
About the comparison with eles, sure they have nuking spells that cause exhaustion and a lot of energy and big recharge time, but they don't take 3 seconds to actually hit the mob, or do anything. And apart from spirit rift and ancestor's rage, all offensive spells that harm 1 single enemy are no good, because the damage is so little.
I definitely think that if they take away what we have best, they should at least give us something in return that we can use, because at some point, everyone will just hate ritualists.

rits the new paragon's?
para's were and are still broken, so that would actually be a buff for the rits ..
as for splinter weapon, it still deals heavy damage. no need to complain.

Splinter is still good, at least they didn't nuke it like they did with LoD. Don't compare them to eles, splinter doesn't cause mobs to scatter, so you can blow them up even faster without aggro break. Thats a HUGE advantage they have over eles.

I don't really like to compare Rits to Eles or to any other class because Rits work in a very different and unique way. I don't think Anet created Rits so they could be nukers. Not all Ele spells cause mobs to scatter though, and there are ways around that problem.
Splinter is still good, true, I am just disapointed in general because, well, who didn't like to see all those damage numbers that filled up the screen? It made me feel good inside.
