Not very special, but stat-wise rather decent. I personally like the skin a lot too. It's also VERY easy to obtain, you can either farm TOPK, or buy it off a player for a K or 2

I agree on the skin, and in theory on the stats as well, but Vampiric unfortunately doesn't lend itself well to how I play Ranger. In PvP I'm usually a cripshot Ranger and generally each arrow I fire has a specific, conscious intent. Rarely am I actually firing enough to get a health return from the life stealing, and a Recurve bow is the nearly the slowest-firing weapon in the game, save for the Horn bow.
I use a Crippling Norn Recurve, 15>50 and +30hp.

The one players seem to be paying out the nose for now is the Celestial Longbow.

I have almost an entire storage tab devoted to bows... the rest of the tab has my trapper stuff and tanking eq. If you wanna play casually, most folks do seem to stick with the longbow. Once you decide to actually play you ranger though, you'll need to clear out some storage space
Celestial??!?!? gag
as far as cool skins: grinning recurve, azures, naga shortbows, bramble bows.

Crippling mod on a cripshot makes sense, can't argue that ^^

vamp is used for pressure damage not gaining health
i don't think it's a good idea to have one on a ranger in pvp though
(except in a slot for ranger spike)
as for pve it works great with barrage

I like the Azure Recurve bows and I want to get my hands on a Spiked Recurve too. The Feathered (Longbow) skin is a favourite of mine too, and one of the classic skins.
I also really like the Mursaat Hornbow.. might have to start some chest running there.
I've been using collector bows for a while though so I'm in the progress of getting some nice looking stuff.

ganking bases a vamp bow can make things go alot faster. If you play a ranger in any decent level of PvP and you don't plan to split then you don't need to be a ranger.
Feathered longbow is pretty..ive wanted 1 for a long time but as a pvp player I iz kinda poor =[

My favorite bow that I have is the naga shortbow I got recently. The most popular bow currently is the silverwing recurve bow though.

Zodiac Longbows drop in Urgoz Warren as well as the Deep areas. Silverwing I believe only drops from Frostmaw's Chest in EoTN. It's really rare, I'm not positive about that one though if it drops anywhere else. A lot of people don't like sundering, but I think it's decent. What kind of string you use depends on what kind of build you want to use.

Both are in Factions. Urgoz is accessed through HzH and The Deep is accessed through Cavalon
