Good partner Professions
I am beginning this game with a friend of mine and I'm wanting to get a bit of help regarding a few combinations that will be successful for us progressing through the roleplaying aspect of the game.
I've heard that the warrior/monk is a good combo, but what partner professions would go well with that? I like the thought of playing an elementalist, and I played a warlock in WoW, so a necromancer may be up my alley as well. What profession would go well with those? Anyway, we may be enlisting the computer controlled characters to do five man quests from time to time and I've heard they can be mildy retarded, so what 3 characters would be best for the computer to play (eg. the least essential to completing a quest)? Lots of questions, but thanks for any help.

I have a feeling that they will close this thread because there is a section that discusses classes below, but I will put my 2 cents in this anyway. Firstly, there is really no specific combination that owns all but through some experience i have developed a preference on some of them. Ele/mes is great for echoing MS. R/rit is good for splinter barrager, Warr/ele is good for conjure skills, flame and frost,. Many peple like the wamo but to me its kinda outdated, as for henchies I think that the monks, eles, and warriors are better than most human players and thats all I usually pick for henchies. Ill use my necro hero for minion master and my own ele with a monk. So my build with heroes will usually be my main character, my necro/mo mm, 2 ele/mesmer nukers plus the 2 henchie eles (one fire one earth) and the two monk(1 prot 1 healer) henchies if available.

Wammos go with more wammos. They make an excellent team as then they have 2 copies of Mending! and then they can discuss which is more effective, Orison of Healing or Healing Breeze.

If you fancy starting out as a caster then it might be best your friend go as a ranger or melee (warrior, assasin, dervish) char that way you have someone who can pull mobs towards you. Or you can always switch the roles if you want to try the W/Mo for yourself.
That said there is no downfall if you both want to go warrior or both go caster types. Just don`t use mending and most of all have fun.
