Hi all,

Long time lurker, first(-ish) time poster

I got my sin up to 20 when factions came out and then stopped playing as I wanted to try something different, I suppose. I was running a shove - falling spider - golden phoenix strike - twisting fangs combo in AB and relishing the general shouts from warriors who thought they could keep up with my damage. Ah, good times.

Having played through nightfall with an MM, I thought I'd come back and try and make another go of the sin and take him through EotN and possibly the latter stages of prohpecies (for old times sake!).

I have since changed my build to include aura of displacement and the new nf skill critical agility, which I think really helps bring some enjoyment back into the class, for me anyway. The ability to jump in and out of battle, slashing as I go is appealing

Now my build is:
A/Mo
Dag Mas:11 (1+2) = 14
Crit: 12 (+2) = 14
Healing: 7 (I think, maybe 8)

Aura of Displacement - Golden Fox Strike - Wild Strike - Twisting Fangs - Death Blossom - Critical Agility - Purge Conditions - Restful Breeze

I am hoping to switch out Purge Conditions of Comtemplation of Purity (but I understand I have to get to the Amnoon Oasis first to purchase it...so looks like I will be playing prophecies for a while!!

I use GFS and WS as they are short recharge. GFS rarely misses (under AoD) and WS is very handy in removing stances which otherwise would drive me up the wall.

I have 2 duals as they obviously accomplish very different purposes. One for crown control, one to soften up more resiliant individual targets.

My main problem at the moment is energy. After using the 10e for AoD I find I am often out of energy by the time i want to use twisting fangs. I have since added 2 radiant insignias to alleviate this isue (take e from 25 to 30 base), but will have to wait till I get home to see if that helps greatly. Perhaps Critical Eye would help?

I have toyed with using Golden Phoenix Strike, but I find the recharge is too long for it to be used as frequently as I would like. I could just drop AoD and get Moebius Strike I suppose, but I enjoy AoD and so would prefer to keep it.

If anyone has any comments or suggested changes, they would be gratefully received. I am going to be mainly pve-ing, but suggestions to help in pvp are also welcome.

Thanks all.

I'm not really in a position to comment on the build itself, but leave Contrmplation of Purity alone. It's a Divine Favour skill, which is a Monk-Only attribute line, so it really wont do much for you (It'll make you lose one condition...and probably strip Aura of Displacement). If you want condition removal, look into [wiki]Assassin's Remedy[/wiki], [wiki]Signet of Malice[/wiki] or [wiki]Plague Touch[/wiki].

Critical Eye is good for beginners in my view as a method of energy management, and a stepping stone to trying other ways of managing your energy. If you have problems, consider Zealous Daggers such as [wiki]Darkroot's Daggers[/wiki], which should work well with your build. Critical Strike can be a good skill for energy management since you not only gain energy when you use it, but it is also a guaranteed Critical Hit, so you gain energy from Critical Strikes also.

PvE, it can work decently there and there are some times when AoD's use is definitely justified such as missions where you have to assassinate a certain target like the turtles in that sadistic Grove mission. Take Assassin's Remedy/Mending Touch for condition removal in normal PvE.

For PvP CoP synergizes quite nicely with AoD. It strips all enchantments but also strips one hex and one condition for each encantment lost. It used to work better with a 6 second shadow refuge though. I'd only take it in PvE if I were in an extremely hex-heavy environment but even so I'd probably spec a monk hero for hex removal.

Seriously?

When I look at Contemplation of Purity, I see:

Divine Favor Rank: 0
Health Gain: 0
Maximum Hexes and Conditions Lost: 1

I'm not really understanding why CoP is good for any non-monk when there are so many other condition & hex removals around.

I find Shadow Stepping not worth the slots in PvE. Sure it's cute but one might just as well run Dash for assault/deaggro.

CritAgility is a MUST for any self-respecting PvE dagger sin.
I like the Golden Fox - Wild Strike intro; I use it myself.

As you've no doubt discovered Death Blossom = win.
Moebius Strike allows for more Death Blossom = win. +++ mega better PvE Elite. Period.

Do not doubt a Blossom spammer WILL outdamage your build by miles, so you should definitely give it a shot. You're now down 5 slots.

Energy is tight, you could either run CritEye (which is good) or Critical Strike (which is criminal, especially in a Moebius build). So I'd go for the latter. Helps keep Agility up too.

2 slots for utility left in any case... and this should be your personal touch IMO. Lots of people run /D for Mystic Regen, but since its nerf it's fallen into disgrace a bit. As you are obviously charmed by AoD's hit-and-run aspect I suggest you use Shadow Walk with a cancel stance of choice (Dash, Dark Escape?). Normally the REAL downside of Shadow Walk is that it's a Stance and thus doesn't allow for an IAS. But CritAgility is rare in that it's an enchantment. WIN! Just be sure to cast it before Shadow Walking in.

Common fillers:
- Critical Defenses
- Mending Touch (/Mo)
- Restful Breeze (/Mo)
- Wild Blow (/W... bit redundant next to Wild Strike though)
- Dash
- Mystic Regen (/D)
- Impale (for teh DW ). Not really needed in PvE though, when you are a walking imba AoE spiker. But hey, I'd like to see each run his/her personal preferences, as long as they're good EDIT: be l33t and run Finish Him!. You get to shout Finish Him!. How can you not win with that!

Good luck.

Not sure why you'd want AoD on that bar. Just seems like it only has drawbacks (like when it gets shattered your combo fails). With critical agility, and maybe even switching from restful to healing breeze, you'd have enough enchantments you can use. Then you can bring something like deaths charge for a teleport, freeing up an elite.

Cheers all, your input is much appreciated.

I'll run down and cap moebius then and we'll see how I get on with non-elite shadow stepping. If death blossom repeating is as dangerous as it seems, it should keep things enjoyable.

Assasains remedy is also a pretty good idea. Ceratinly if Im not using CoP to end the AoD, I dont see why I would want to lose all my enchants. Stance chasing may be just as easy to get along with.

Then I will just need to find a guild which shares my love of pummeling smug Warriors (and anything else that get in my way, muhahaha) and Im set.

EotN here I come (god help it)!

Reapeating Death Blossum gets old. I have started using aod myself for fun in PVE

mine is atm

AOD,mark of instability, golden pheonix strike, twisting fangs, falling spider, blades of steel, tiger stance or critical agility, rez

its just a fun build. And since anything works in gen PVE i like it for when i wanna narutard and live.

I used to love the Assassin's Promise/Instagib build. Not sure how to pull it off now since BLS was changed to a lead though.
