you serious?
honestly... 40/40's are standard on eles but to use them 24/7 isnt nessecary... you got 4 weapon slot... use them...
40/40, +20% enchant set when putting up attunement, shield set when taking damage, high set for low energy situations,
if nothing else, it helps you get used to weapon swapping for PvP (if you are interested in going that route). Just a good habit to get into.

How is keeping up a attunement (or maybe aegis) longer better than powering out rodgorts and MBs?

uhhh.... because the set i suggested lets you do both. HCT is stupid and you only get 10% less (not even that because of how they stack) less HSR.

Is there something wrong with pushing about a rodgorts in 1 second? Or a mind blast in 1/2 seconds?

Just swap weapons ppl, +20% mod for casting attune, shield when you're getting stomped, 20/20 set when you're happily casting high and dry. Casters need sh!t loads of weapon sets.
There's also these things that reduce cripple and daze duration, could work wonders in arenas, etc etc

err... no
HCT is basically useless, and i would lose 10% HSR for 20% enchanting any day.
|
HCT is more useful than Fire +1.
I'd rather pack in more Rodgort's Invocations by hitting the HCT chance mod, than hope for the extra 7 damage the +1 Fire mod would give me, and still be stuck on a 2 second cast time, more vulnerable to interruption.
