Default Question about weaponry

Let me first explain myself. It has been a week or so since I got back on after a 3-4 year break. And one thing is for sure, I'm completely lost. I have a good amount of plat and ectos (really sucks how the ecto price dropped) stored and want to spend my money on a really good wand and artifact. And as all of you know there are 3245345 things being sold on the trade chat and navigating through all that stuff gives me a headache.

So, I usually prefer wands over staves so any recommendation on those would be cool. I like appearances but stats are more important. Also, there seems to be, what are they called, i think wand wraps and inscriptions?? new upgrades i suppose.

One more thing, are wraps and inscriptions stackable with one another? or is it that you either choose one or the other. sigh, >_> sorry, I have tried to do research on my own by navigating through forums like this and guild wiki but answers are vague or too overwhelming to understand right off the bat.

inscriptions are stackabe, but not all.

And as far as recommending a wand, what profession is your character?

Each weapon can have 2 upgrades + an inscription. In the case of wands, you can put 1 wand wrapping and 1 inscription. other types of weapons can usually use 2 upgrades + inscription.

Check the weapon Upgrades page from Wiki.

I roll around as an e/me.... I am aware that wiki has a list of the upgrades however, whats the popular weapon (wands) of choice now? i remember in the first campaign it was 20/20 +30 staves or so... since theres an added component whats a good mix now? I know for some the answer is obvious; not so much for me. how about artifacts? are there like +30 health 20% skill recharge now?

sigh, simply put, whats the weapon a handful of ele would want in their weapon slots? Or has nothing changed and its still the max 20/20 +30 staves? I mean if theres something similar for wands i'd want that.

+30 health upgrades are still sought after for ALL weapons. As for the skins for wands im not the right person to ask to since i dont have any chars that are primary casters.

Again theres always some answers that you can find on wand or staves or whatever skins you want.

in pve it honestly doesn't matter what weapons you carry around with you...

40/40's nice, caster sword/axe/spear's are nice with a HSR20% +30 health set.

it also depends on what you are doing with your ele: like if you are just gonna SF nuke... SF and glowing gaze alrdy recharge pretty fast by default (so for me) I just run around with a caster martial wep and a shield just for the +60 health boost and armor buff.

It's always just nice to have everything (40/40, high nrgy, shield set, etc.) and since money doesnt seem to be a problem... this could be another option.

All you will ever really need in pve is a 40/40 set which consists of:

- A wand with a Wand Wrapping of Memory and an "Aptitude not Attitude" inscription.
- A Focus with a Focus Core of Aptitude and a "Forget Me Not" inscription.

The wand wrappings are pretty cheap (about 1k), the rest is a bit more pricey especially the inscriptions. about 5-8k for aptitude insc and about 8-10k for the focus mods.

I could be wrong on the prices but that's what i think they are.

caster sword/axe/spear? thats new.

[to Proff or anyone wanting to answer it]

And also can you use these new upgrades/components on old weapons from original campaign. or just EoTN and NF? How about PVP recommendations?

Prophecies weapons come without an inscription slot meaning that the inscription can't be changed and is always the one that came with the weapon, this goes for factions weapons as well.

For pvp you need the 40/40 set mentioned above, a +30/-2 energy set, and a +60 hp staff or weapon/shield.

Personally I always run 20/20 swift staves of enchanting from collectors.

"Forget Me Not" Inscriptions cost 25k - 30k. So if money is an issue you're better off using a green/collector item.

a "caster" weapon refers to a martial weapon with +5 energy and a 20% enchant mod, i.e.:

"I have the power" inscription
a Sword Pommel/Axe Grip/Spear Grip of Enchanting

This is commonly used

hey hey first post yo

A lot of people run fortitude on their caster weapon.

I run a 10% HCT and +30 on my spear since it's on my shield set, which I'm swapping to for defense (and want the most health) plus you don't need energy mods on an ele there's already plenty.

err... no

HCT is basically useless, and i would lose 10% HSR for 20% enchanting any day.

Personally speaking I use a HSR/+30hp/20% enchants/+5en staff of whatever attribute for everything apart from fire when I generally use HSR/+5en wand and 15 -1en/+30hp offhand on my usual MB bar.

Basically I'm trading the 20% longer enchants for the extra base energy on the MB bar. I very rarely find the need to swap sets once my bar is set for an area/mission.

Works for me

I've lost all my respect for you. 40/40 Sets are God-like on eles.

Fact!
