I'm starting to debate which is worth farming more they both cost 1k entry and ectos are more valuable then shards so why farm this?

For solo farming, I'd personally go with Fow. Mostly when I do fow I get like 5 shards + a few k worth of drops in about an hour. Whereas I'm lucky if I get 1 ecto/hour in UW and barely any drops.

However, an organised guild team clearing UW HM > solo farming. IMO

FoW. I solo farm in UW sometimes with monk, so it's a smites+aatxes run, but I rarely get enough to make up for the entry fee. But in FoW I used to go with w/mo and get 10k in 40 minutes, and that's just with 1-2 shards. Much bigger profits there.

But yeah, in team UW > FoW.

FoW solo trips take longer but you get a very good consistent amount each trip if not a lot.

UW can be done fast but the odds are you can occasionally come out with not much more than you went in.

Not to say UW is not worth it, the chances of getting loads in a few minutes is just as good, but if you are looking to get good result almost every trip, go with fissure.

yea i agree with past posts, in UW i usualy get 1 ecto per run, and enough to enter again, but in FoW, i make 4+ shards per run +all the other drops fallen + obsidion chests drops

, although i havnt farmed either 1 in a while i would go with FoW.

people done realize the fact that although an ecto is double a shard, shards drop alot more therefore more cash on a solo uw run i think its fair to say the average drop is 0-1. on a fow duo you can get 0-6 shards(generally you each get 2-4) which is equal to 2 ectos not to mention the golds that drop as well as picks which can be used on chests fow>uw

clearing as whole uw>fow, however solo/dual runs fow>uw; shards drop more often than ectos, 0-2 chests where in uw u're lucky to get 1 every couple of runs. Maybe i just have bad luck, but i don't remember getting more than 3 good items out of uw chest (in past 1 year). more golds/lockpicks in fow.

I prefer uw.. the run is easy whichever way you do it.. its also fast... 1 ecto per 10 minutes isnt bad.. that is if u can complete a run in 10 mins and get 1 ecto each run.

I just hate fow... shards are kinda.. worthless imho.

I'd prefer UW. It is incredibly safe and easy with a VWK warrior. Also, on average I seem to get at least one ecto per run. Runs for me usually take around 10-15 minutes. Usually I get about 5 or 6 ectos in an hour.

I get into more FoW groups. UW is too SS/55/Ursan oriented nowadays.

Personally shards seem to drop often enough to balance out the fact they cost less than ectos - some nice drops, Chaos Axes, Shadow weapons, etc.

Although FoW is more on combat and the quests are generally the same, it's still preferable - UW seems to have more places where you can wipe, multiple tricky quests, etcetera.

When it comes down to the actual profit though, UW may be better. But for standard runs or multiple-player farming, I'd go with FoW.

If you can get a smite run down to 10 mins, which shouldn't be that hard with a W/Rt or W/Me, you can do a total of 5-6 runs (leeway for uncertainties) per hour. I tend to get about 4-6 ectos per hour this way and more than enough in gold, whites, blues, grapes, and golds to pay for the entry and then some.

I usually get about 7-8 ectos on my solo runs. Yes I know that sounds unbelievable but I do more than one part of UW with the build I made. Don't flame, I'll probably make a guide this weekend because school is keeping me busy atm.

I personally run FoW more but if you get into an elite oriented guild then you can do both on a regular basis. Ectos definitely drop less frequently than shards so I would recommend FoW in general.
