[skill]Protective Spirit[/skill][skill]Shield of Absorption[/skill][skill]Shielding Hands[/skill][skill]Glyph of Renewal[/skill][skill]Sliver Armor[/skill][skill]Aftershock[/skill][skill]Essence Bond[/skill][skill]Balthazar's Spirit[/skill]

I used that a bit, in places of no enchantment stripping and no degen it works "ok"...though if there isn't much around Sliver Armor doesn't kill very fast. I never tested much really because my monk is far more adept at that sort of thing.

This, of course, is more suitable for killing specific bosses rather than general farming, since Sliver Armor's effectiveness is reduced the less things are attacking you, but I'm making a point about the incredibly potent protective nature of elementalist spells. With some energy management - Attunements, or skills from a secondary profession - the elementalist can farm very well without needing to rely on builds made for its secondaries.
That seems pretty good in a lot of areas to be honest, and you don't even need to have 55HP.

Zealot's Fire triggers on casting. That's the reason I originally included Reversal of Fortune in my 55 build - it was the cheapest, fastest-recharging monk spell I could target myself with, which set off Zealot's Fire and did extra damage to the hydras. The strategy won't work these days, because hydras (and most other things) are programmed to run away after about two "pulses" of AoE spells, which effectively translates into "two damage bursts in two seconds." Between Reversal of Fortune spam and renewing Protective Spirit and Healing Breeze, you're bound to chase them away.

Actually, what I've done for minotaur farming in Elona Reach - just to see whether I could do it - was to bring Protective Spirit, Healing Breeze, Spirit Bond, and Searing Flames + Glowing Gaze as my kill. The minotaurs may run off, but Searing Flames can finish them even at a distance, and Glowing Gaze provides energy when they're not all busy crushing your face.

It wasn't the most effective thing, though, so I generally gave up on that

That's because it's pretty much the same thing as the UW build

Though, back in the day, I did take my 55 ele to tank for some SS users in the Underworld. Ah, nostalgia...

just an update, i found these builds to work sufficiently:

[skill]Protective Spirit[/skill][skill]Obsidian Flesh[/skill][skill]Sliver Armor[/skill][skill]Stoneflesh Aura[/skill][skill]Healing Breeze[/skill][skill]Essence Bond[/skill][skill]Balthazar's Spirit[/skill][skill]Mending[/skill]

Earth Magic 11+1+3
Energy Storage 1+3
Healing Prayers 11
Protection Prayers 10

Mostly used as in a SS combo, doesn't deal damage fast enough to be great for farming. Usually i switch off between Obi and Sliver, and try to maintain Stoneflesh as much as possible. Basically what you guys were showing me, and it works pretty darn well.

[skill]Protective Spirit[/skill][skill]Lava Font[/skill][skill]Lava Arrows[/skill][skill]Inferno[/skill][skill]Healing Breeze[/skill][skill]Essence Bond[/skill][skill]Balthazar's Spirit[/skill][skill]Mending[/skill]

Fire Magic 8+1+3
Energy Storage 2+3
Healing Prayers 10
Protection Prayers 12

More used as a solo, lava font is surprisingly effective, depending on your views on scatter (I like it, they come back anyways and it deals a good bit of damage before the scatter, has low recharge, and isn't wasted too much on scattered enemies (5 second duration, they usually scatter around 4ish). Lava arrows is nice because is also has a low recharge, low cost, and can hit 3 foes at a time. Inferno is pretty self explaining, cast away.

[skill]Protective Spirit[/skill][skill]Mist Form[/skill][skill]Swirling Aura[/skill][skill]Flame Djinn's Haste[/skill][skill]Healing Breeze[/skill][skill]Essence Bond[/skill][skill]Balthazar's Spirit[/skill][skill]Mending[/skill]

Water Magic 11+3
Fire Magic 1+1+3
Healing Prayers 10
Protection Prayers 12

I am currently testing this as a run build, Mist Form to keep the constant stream of attacks down, Swirling Aura as a 1/2 blocker, and Flame Djinn's Haste as a speed booster (slight delay between end of duration and recast, but good enough for me ). This is still in testing, needs some tweaking IMO.

[skill]Glyph of Renewal[/skill][skill]Sliver Armor[/skill][skill]Aura of Restoration[/skill][skill]Protective Spirit[/skill][skill]Shielding Hands[/skill][skill]Stoneflesh Aura[/skill][skill]Balthazar's Spirit[/skill][skill]Essence Bond[/skill]

Screw, the 55, go with 135hp and bring your favorite earth staff of enchanting instead of a crappy axe and offhand.

It in action:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhtKUxH3S8U

when casting prot spirit..always cast:
Protective spirit, Shielding hands, Stoneflesh Aura.

Cast liking that, immediately one after the other, keeps you from taking any damage whatsoever (so you can mass aggro). Then you have AoR just to counter degen and life stealing, which is fairly easy. Also, if they have a foe (or foes) in the area that can strip an enchantment (if they remove all ur just screwed) you have covered protective spirit with sliver armor, shielding hands, stoneflesh aura, and aura of restoration. So they'll need to strip 5 enchants to kill prot spirit.

This build is a boss farming beast.

[card]Protective Spirit[/card][card]Healing Breeze[/card][card]Glyph of Swiftness[/card][card]Obsidian Flesh[/card][card]Sliver Armor[/card][card]Stoneflesh Aura[/card][card]Mending[/card][card]Balthazar's Spirit[/card] i use this one to solo a few bosses and farm jade brotherhood outisde marketplace .. of course it's still a bit iffy to me, but it works for 55 ele. only real problem is if prioritizing which to put up and keep up first, +20% enchants is Highly recommended

Why try make a 'farmer' ele if E/A already excist? I don't see the point of an ele with smiting prayers... if monk can do better

its Not an ele with smiting prayers, none are used or needed. and the Point of it, is to explore the limits of an eles capabilities, worked for me

and E/A isn't Everything, it has it's flaws and weaknesses, as well as things it Can't farm.

E/A lol. E/A has its places.....there are also places an E/A is pretty much useless. Also, if you can't kill it in 17 seconds (or so) with E/A, you pretty much can't kill it. That really does hurt the effectiveness. With a 135hp ele....you can farm anywhere without enchant stripping, and you don't have to worry about whether you can kill them in a few seconds.....since you can be there all day if need be. E/A is far from the best ele farming idea in my book, though in many places it IS the best way. I say idea since some use sliver, others use fire magic.

Here was my first attempt at 135 ele build, it served me well. I used this particular build because I had all the necessary skills. Since I have made it I have modified it a series of times but you get the General picture.

[skill]Glyph of Renewal[/skill] [skill]sliver armor[/skill] [skill]aura of restoration[/skill] [skill]healing breeze[/skill] [skill]protective spirit[/skill] [skill]stoneflesh aura[/skill] [skill]essence bond[/skill] [skill]balthazar's spirit[/skill]

However I find that there are lot of other builds that do not utilize the 55 template that are much more effective at solo farming. Hit me up if you like to learn how to solo FoW, UW, Tomb, or green farming. Have different builds for each
