And of course those 5 seconds of kicking serious ass will leave everybody else so dazzled they'll be knocked down for 55 seconds.

Nah, just saying that if you absolutely have to get an attack through, use something aside from AoG. Warrior's Cunning was just the first thing that came to mind.

Being able to kick serious ass for 5 seconds every minute isn't all that great. In fact, it's pretty shitty. Hell, I'd rather run rigor mortis on a dervish. At least that has a somewhat decent duration/recharge.

Avatar of Grenth would be my Avatar of choice if Melandru wasn't basically hacking. I'm sorry, but any melee character who deals insane damage, has more health than anyone else on the team, can't be crippled, can't be blinded, and can't be weakened is incredibly, unrealistically powerful, and I wouldn't trade all of that just so that I can hit through Aegis.

no lyssa is bad sry
why would you want to move slow and deal non-holy damage at the advantage of hurting some shitty player not using FC sets that's somehow unprotted with a lyssa dervish of all things beating on them instead of easily kiting away?

Because +40 armor means you'll die last in PvP, Lyssa is good vs necros, ritualists, elementalists, some Paragons (2 second cast chants), caster assassins (1 second cast is enough with Heart of Fury). Plus, if someone is using Resurrection Signet, it's 3 seconds of +40 damage.
And you have more energy.

If you're talking about PvP, yes, Lyssa is pretty bad. However, Balthazar's pretty unanimously agreed upon as the worst of all the Avatars in practically every situation except for ones specificially crafted to make it useful.
And the Holy damage from Balthazar doesn't ignore armor. +40 armor isn't nearly as good as you think it is, and all the effects from Balthazar are easily reproduced by skills commonly used. There is absolutely no reason why you would not run Melandru over Balthazar in a PvP situation, and no feasible reason why an organized team wouldn't take Grenth over Balthazar - after all, Grenth means your Dervish ignores - to some extent - prots, which is pretty attractive.

balth for byob since people can't kite you and for HA since the increased mobility is essential for most of the HA maps.

Problem is, Balthazar can get shafted by some very common attacks:
- Ineptitude
- Empathy
- Insidious Parasite
because it gives you no protection against that. It also doesn't increase your damage at all. Lyssa can at least spike, though still I basically never use it for PvP because condition immunity always helps more.

Grenth actually isn't too bad in a spike situation. It addresses Aegis chains and Guardian spamming but it still gets owned by Spirit Bond.
It is still lacking something but I can't think of what that is. Perhaps it needs a third benefit like Melandru.
How about a scaling % chance of causing Crippled? 3% at 0 Mysticysm to 17% at 16 Mysticysm?
