Black's a tone. why?

the light (white/colorless) you see is really an array of colors (like the rainbow).
black clothing for example doesnt deflect any colors, it absorbs all. for that, it can't be called a color.

Black primeval + bandana = just sexy lookin . and the bones are white, opposite tones, wich makes both stand out.

On topic, most like Black Dye as its the most expensive and it gives them a chance to stroke thier e-penis while gloating in Local Chat.

I've tested many colors on my dervish. First it was red, while I saved up for black, then I got black. Was good and fun, but I was afraid that people would think I was exactly like the kind of person you guys generally post about--where you buy something because it's more expensive. So I changed to red again, and stayed with that for a while. I then switched to white for a while, and then tried silver, and buggered around in experimental brown-based colors, but in the end, the only color I really appreciated was black.

It just goes well, in my opinion, with the costume. I mean, there are bones on it. Would you run around in a colorful costume with bones on them? Nah man, you go with black because it's mundane and plain and therefore it's cool.

My derv has primeval and it is died black. First i had red, blue and green, but wen i saw it i black I loved it and i got it right away.

I also have a set of 15K lux for my necro dyed black and it looks good. the armor maxes well with the parts you cant dye.

I also have a set of primeval for my ranger dyed black. It looks good sinse i use bramble bows and the color maxes well. the detail on the dyed parts of the armor shine wen you move the camra.

the rest of my characters r dyed white, blue or gray and it look good so i keep it that way. i dont dye my armor a certain color because it cost a lot, but because i like it

lol

There seems to be no agreement on what "colour" really means... even the dictionary I checked described it as a phenomenon caused by the eye's perception of light, as well as a term used to differentiate "colours" from black/white/grey.

My take; if you want to call black a colour, you can if you want. It's rarely pure, anyway, so chances are it has some colouring.

From a artistic standpoint black white, and shades of green are tints and shades. From a physics standpoint they are all just wavelengths, and within visible light, which would make them colors. But, I think we're going based on a fashion/artistic standpoint, which makes them neutral, and not colors.

Sure.

From a fashion viewpoint, black is also terribly clichéd. Still, if you're reading this you probably already noticed.

When I feel like downing Abaddon again and buy that darned armor I wont dye it black for the simple reason that everone else has it dyed like that.

I fell in love with this dye combo from guildwiki:
(link from proxy server doesnt work will post a proper image when I get home)
orange + brown + brown

Derv is my main char, i have several armors, all of them dyed black or white.
Primevial dyed black. I've always loved black colour (anti-colour). In RL, most of my clothes are black. Has nothing to do with my penis or e-penis. My penis is good enough. Cheers.

People who dye it black are the most un-original people. Plain and simple. Why don't you try and get Vabbian armor. Primeval armor is cheap in comparison to that.

Cuz Vabbian is almost ugliest Derv armor for me. Actually they're all ugly as sin, only ones i like are Primevial (not that much cuz everyone have it), Obsidian dyed white (in process of getting it), and prettiest for me: Elite sunspear dyed white (currently wearing). I have almost all derv armors (displayed in HoM), but i rly hate the way most of them look. I dye all my armors black or white, other colours are gay.

<- proud to be gay in that case!

It's cheaper, too.

I'm not sure why everyone dyes it black. ::blink::

My dervish has Silver + Black on her elite sunspear armor, which comes out a beautiful navy color. Someone was talking about dyes once, and when I mentioned my color combo, they said, 'Why would you mix black??'

So yeah, I gues most people find mixing blacks a waste. Personally, I hate most full-black armor, because the severity of the darkness shows imperfections in the graphics, :P Plus, mixing gives your character a more unique vibe.

Black costs the most, therefore it's the best.

Duh.

QFT, People will always dye their armor black, no matter how crap it may look, just because it's leet. Look at all the monks and Mesmers wearring Black FoW, just God Awful, no? Or maybe it's just that Female Mesmer FoW just sucks whatever colour in my opinion.

Anicent in blue for Females, that's the way for me, it's a generally cute set and has sexy blades on the dress as opposed to smelly fishbones.

I honestly could care less what colour someone dyes their armour. Then again, dervish primeval armour dyed black makes one look like the grim reaper so that could be a reason.

I got my dervish Vabbian armour dyed white. Why?

1. Cause all the other derv armour looks like utter garbage other than monument (I didn't have EotN at the time so it wasn't an option).

2. Vabbian armour dyed white makes my Derv look like a Sultan.

Yes, it's just that the grim reaper motif is completely overused. I must be the only one on the planet who didn't realise it would kind of fit until recently, but everyone else picked up the slack, soo...
