Actually, I'd liken it more to turning up at a Slayer gig in an MCR hoodie. Even gorier

You are absolutely right but you can call it bad without being insulting. You were able to make a valid point without being a pill, so what is Stormlord's excuse?

I admit I have never played the warrior class and I should definitely have qualified my posting by saying that. People just need to relax. I appreciate the more civil criticism Strangelove. Thanks.

I think that is reaching a bit. I made a bad suggestion. That's it. I'm a financial analyst. When someone makes a bad suggestion about structuring a loan, I don't tell them "they don't have a clue". I explain to them with civility why the deal won't work. There is nothing productive about making people feel stupid in these posts.

I want to echo what Stormlord Alex and Coloneh already said and add in my personal preferences.

I prefer Axes to Swords in general PvE. It is a mix of Energy and Adrenaline attacks, you can easily fit in Wild Blow without getting hurt too much by the adrenaline loss.

My (slightly varied) suggestion:

12+1+1 Axe
Rest: optional, usually Strength

1. Triple Chop
2. Cyclone Axe
3. Whirlwind Attack
4. Dismember
5. Exec Strike
6. Brawling Headbutt <- very useful touch-KD
7. optional (FGJ or Flail with cancel stance... or both)
8. optional / Rez / Wild Blow

If you want Save Yourselves, Watch Yourself or whatever, up to you. I just cannot get rid of Brawling Headbutt anymore!

For a DSlasher, I usually run this

1. Dragon Slash
2. Sun and Moon Slash
3. Save Yourselves
4. Brawling Headbutt
5. Steelfang Slash (use after BH)
6. Flail
7. For Great Justice
8. optional

OK, going too much into detail. Just my 50 cent.

I like how that has nothing to do with the thread.

Whenever I go axe in PvE (rarely) I run something like:

[skill]Flail[/skill][skill]Eviscerate[/skill][skill]Executioner's Strike[/skill][skill]Distracting Blow[/skill][skill]"For Great Justice!"[/skill][skill]"Save Yourselves!"[/skill][skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill][skill]"There's Nothing To Fear!"[/skill]

Welcome to the internet, it's full of immature kids. If you're going to get this worked up because a child called you bad at playing a game you need to work on your self-confidence. Next you're going to make some stupid comment about how you're not whining but that's all you're doing. No one cares about your job, your real world experiences, or the lessons you have to offer. If you don't like someone, back off.

Actually, if you've never played a class, you probably shouldn't offer advice on how to play it. Especially when your advice is using IW on a warrior. I'm not trying to be rude here, just blunt.

edit: On topic, Triple Chop kills stuff.

Or, you could run this: [skill]Arcane Echo[/skill][skill]Echo[/skill] and or

Discuss.

I really don't think that would ever work.

Please don't forget Dismember in your axe builds unless you're running Eviscerate. [avoid Decapitate, sounds good on paper, but very poor in practice]

My AoE nuclear Axe user usually runs a PvE setup consisting of W. skills:

Triple Chop
Cyclone Axe
Whirlwind Attack
Dismember

If that's the first half of your skill bar, you're probably doing better than 70% of the PvE AoE warriors out there... Hopefully the 2nd half of your skill bar won't involve energy skills cause having 2 5e. skills will eat your energy away, even with a zealous at times...

i ran decap once to try it and it puts out decent dmg but you really have to watch it while using it. I would always rather use Evis over it though

Definitely. Axes aren't just for AoE, they're for AoE and deep wound (unconditional and spammable). There is no single-target skill that you could bring that will do as much damage as Dismember (other than probably Flail).

Triple Chop, Dismember, and Flail should be the core three damage skills on an axe bar.
From there, you just add on other skills depending on where you are and what you're trying to do, such as Cyclone Axe, Whirlwind, Executioners, Furious Axe, Disrupting Chop, etc.
For example, I'd add on Cyclone and Whirlwind if I wanted heavier AoE, while I would add on Executioners and Furious if I wanted heavier single-target damage. Add on Disrupting Chop if you want an interrupt, Wild Blow for certain bosses, etc. etc.

i love hammer but i also LOVE axe "dont like sword at all rly"

axe 12+1+1
strength 11+1
air 6

[skill]eviscerate[/skill][skill]executioner's strike[/skill][skill]agonizing chop[/skill][skill]flail[/skill][skill]wild blow[/skill][skill]enraging charge[/skill][skill]shock[/skill][skill]resurrection signet[/skill]

axe 12+1+1
strength 11+1
water 6

[skill]cleave[/skill][skill]executioner's strike[/skill][skill]dismember[/skill][skill]flail[/skill][skill]wild blow[/skill][skill]enraging charge[/skill][skill]conjure frost[/skill][skill]resurrection signet[/skill]

on both builds you can take out executioner's for body blow, and on the 2nd build if you do this add in agonizing chop other then dismember. wild blow can also be taken out for healing sig "i take strength down to 9 and add it in to tactics"

You do realize Wild Blow drains all your adrenaline right?

Bring Melonni with Wild Blow instead, at least it doesn't kill the rest of her skills
