r7 where removed in the beggining of nightfall due to PvP inbalance, never really confirmed but widely accepted. Well there could technically be 1 or 2 because random loot generator can logically generate one. Maybe a 1 in a billion chance.

That would be because you're not supposed to hear of them or see them. They're once in a lifetime things.
Hell, you're lucky if you see someone selling one.

I'm inclined to agree with this, but i thought it went even further back to the release of Factions or maybe even Sorrow's Furnace.
I have a couple of max r8 gold bows that were given to me at least two years ago. I have never seen a max r7 anything, but i'm pretty sure they did drop in the old Prophecies only days. Are we calling BS on this thread?

The rumor of them not dropping keepes changing with ever update. The first rumor of them not dropping was when they removed unconditionals, then SF update ppl claimed they stop dropping. Its every update that people keep saying they stop dropping. Its BS on the people who seem to think they have stopped dropping.
The main reason why people seem to think they dont drop anymore is really simple. The level range for a q7 to drop is 15-19 the cahance for one to drop from a lvl20 isnt even worth mentioning its that small. Now look where all the q7 have been found at. They are found in those areas now compare the areas of all campaigns to prophicies and then look what the level of creatures are in those relative same areas would be. Its cause after prophecies the majority of the lvls you fight are lvl20+ wheres its not till the desert in prophicies that you really start fighting lvl 20+. That is why people seem to think they dont drop anymore.
Anet has not removed q7 max from dropping ingame. Its just that the lvl ranges have increased dramasticlly for the majority of the other campaigns and the expansion.

there was no PvP balances issues with q7's. you can try to call BS as much as you want but read what I wrote.

I'm willing to call BS on the idea of "Farming Q7s" but as for finding them, there's always glitches.

I'd like to believe you, but without proof it's looking more and more like a hoax. A simple screenshot or preferably video from you of your max q7 drops, and you'll win over the doubters.
I believe your intent is to help so hopefully someone will come up with the goods based on your tips.

The proof is so/so to get. As Ive mentioned the reasons why. If I still had those daggers from before I could show them they dropped 2 months ago while I was lvling up my ELE on the raptor nestlings. But with the limited areas of some campaigns is what makes it the tricky part. But as far as SS or even game movies even I wont believe them as ppl do have there own private GW servers. Now look at the claims that people try to make on them being removed. When Factions came out so many claims were made that they were also stopped from dropping till people started chest running and farming Vermins which shut them up. It wont be till more than just me or 1 or 2 others show itll be when many more start to show they are still finding them when once again the claims that they were stopped dropping be put to rest.

Anet has removed the possibility of a max req.7 item dropping by increasing the bottom value of requirement ranges for max items by 1.
Before NF the hard coded and allowed req. range for max items was 8-13, and there was a tiny edge of chance that an item that's under max item_level dropped with max stats and req.7, due to imperfect calculation by the drop generating system. There was no chance for a max req.6 ever.
The NF update just increased the bottom allowed req. value from 8 to 9 and did nothing to the flaws in item generation that caused certain item types to have a tiny chance of droping max stats with req. 1 less than minimum allowed. The chances for max req.8s now are exactly the same as the chances for max req.7s before NF, the gap hasn't become any wider.
To those who still believe - the fact that a mob of a given level can drop both: a req.7 item and a max dmg item doesn't mean the dropped item can be both.
item_level isn't equal to drop_level.
(not actual names of the values, I haven't seen source code;p )
for example:
A level 10 Charr boss in pre-searing can drop a Purple Staff with req. as low as 2 but it will be only for lowest dmg ones, like 7-11. A high (not even max) damage Purple Staff that same lv 10 Charr can drop that's for example 9-16 (max is 10-16) will never drop with req. lower than 5, forget about 4, 3 or 2 which that boss can drop but for lower dmg (and lower inherent level) items only.

Still waiting on what beta server your basing your claims on. My bet is GWLP using elmos DB.
Ecspecially since people where still getting q7 after NF's release from Vermins. Its the what the level range that has changed is what has caused the people just not to see them as much. but claiming q8's now drop like q7 used to is just as funny. Its because as Ive said with the level range differences in the campaigns where we had higher areas of medium leveled creatures compared to factions, nightfall and gwen.

Manitoba, I seriously don't know why you're allowed to post.
Max 7 items don't drop anymore. It's pretty easy to disprove this, however - offer to show an inscribable r7 max item ingame. But you can't, nor can anyone else, because they don't exist and they're not going to drop. Saying rubbish like, "but I got a r7 item last week but i dont have it anymore lolol" isn't going to cut it. Nor is telling people that they can find their own r7 item if they farm hard enough. Fact is, anyone with a insc r7 item can prove that they exist with absolute certainty by showing it ingame, but they - for one reason or another - conveniently don't have it anymore.
Don't waste your time.

It wasn't a private server, I think I shouldn't talk about it here anymore (maybe on priv).
q7 max couldn't have dropped after NF update, it was a global change.
The fact people don't farm lv 18-20 mobs as much as they did in the past doesn't affect the probability of having a mob of a given level drop an item with lower req than supposed as this hasn't changed. It only means that less of them enters the economy.
If you still believe a req.7 can drop, tell me why not a single WHITE (or blue, they're treated the same by the game) max req.7 has dropped post NF then? They were pretty common before NF and they could drop from ANY mobs level 24-28+
Now look at the sheer mass of whites/blues that drop nowadays. If you play the game you should see them drop everywhere, in huge quantities. How often do you see a max req.8 white/blue drop? From my observations, and I play and played the game A LOT, it's about the same rate at which req.7 whites/blues dropped before NF.
They just did a +1 to min allowed req.
The difference was obvious for me just by looking at the common drops during the first week post NF release. Haven't you noticed a change? Before NF max req8 whites were exactly as common as max req9 whites. After NF the req8 whites mysteriously disappeared from the loads of merch'ed junk, and single ones appear once a couple dozen hours of play. Just as r7s did before NF...
The same applies to golds, but they have req anomalies at lower drop levels, and are much less frequent drops generally, so it may be harder to see at first glance. But come on, it's been over 15 months...

There hasn't been a single confirmed r7 max inscribable item, ever. After 15 months of play, don't you think that maybe even *one* person could offer to show an r7 item ingame, or maybe have one for sale on Guru? To anyone with a functioning brain, that suggests they don't drop anymore. Ups.

Manitoba...Lol at your pitiful, baseless claim...You, unlike anyone doubting you have no evidence to prove your point.
A comparison to your fruitless actions is like trying to prove to everyone that the sky was purple a moment ago. But, when we look, it's blue, as it always is. And like you're doing now, you claim to have proof, but have lost it. So, until you have "proof", stop making baseless claims...
You can speculate, but don't attempt to change facts.

hi there,
I don't really understand why some ppl get so tense about such little things sometimes
anyways, I believe gold max req 7 still drop, probably not in NF/GWEN, so don't expect max req 7 inscribable stuff ...
I'm going to try out a few spots and see what I get
cheers
